REALIZE™ Band



The REALIZE™ Band has been approved for use in surgical weight loss procedures by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. The procedure is designed to help patients who are considered morbidly obese, typically those who are about 100 pounds overweight and have a body mass index (BMI) over 35. By creating a smaller stomach chamber with which to store food, the REALIZE™ Band allows the patient to feel full much earlier than usual. Patients can lose up to one to two pounds per week with REALIZE™ Band, leading to significant weight loss and less risk of developing life-threatening illnesses that can be brought on by morbid obesity. Plus, the REALIZE™ Band is minimally invasive and involves less post-operative discomfort and recovery time than other forms of weight loss surgery. The REALIZE™ Band can also be adjusted over time to allow for more or less food intake.
