I am. I'm so ready to change myself for the better.
I tried losing weight in mid-2011, and I managed to do it successfully. I got all the way down to 192 from 223 in a span of a year, but once college classes started, I've been rising, and now I'm hovering between 199 and 201. Ouch.
And I know what I'm doing wrong - I'm eating too friggin' much! So starting today, I'm getting to turn away from all the food temptations and start losing weight.
What worked for me before was counting calories. I used MyFitnessPal, but for whatever reason, I stopped counting calories, so I'm going to start again. I think I just got tired and needed a little diet break. I told myself 1 month, but.... it's been almost 4 years. I think it's about time to start back up again.
Want Results? Be Specific, Dammit
Ah, yes, I have a tendency to just say "I want to lose weight" but not do anything to go at it, and it's mostly because my goals aren't as realistic or as specific as before. So, okay, I want to lose 10 pounds. That's great!
But how am I going to do it? How much weight do I want to lose per week? How much calories am I going to cut? How much and how often am I going to exercise?
So here are my goals for each week
1. Exercise for a minimum of 30 minutes for five days a week, with two days of break (because of college.. I'll be exhausted).
2. Maintain a deficit of 500 calories under your maintenance so that you can lose 2 lbs a week. Don't worry, the Myfitnesspal app will tell you how much you should be eating.
3. It's not just about cutting calories. it's about eating GOOD calories, too! Stay the hell away from chips and artificial crap. Your body will love you for it.
Why am I on these forums?
Part of the reason why my weight loss was so successful in 2011 was because of these forums. I joined under my previous username, Jaycandoit. You can probably find my thread somewhere if you look far enough.
But you guys are so AMAZING for motivation, so I plan on updating this diary regularly so I can keep myself in check.
My Stats
As of 2:06 AM, I am 199 pounds.
My main goal is to be 190 pounds.
My long-term goal is to be 180 pounds.
My long-long term goal is to be hot and sexy with washboard abs.
I'm too tired to do my body measurements (we all know how important those are). I'll save it for tomorrow morning.
Wish me luck guys!
