4 Weight Loss Tips To Shed Unnecessary Pounds

Weight Loss Tip Number 1 : Take a picture of everything you eat

I know this sounds extremely ridiculous, but this is actually really important because you will be more conscious of what you put in your mouth! Taking picture of your food, stopping and holding your appetite for 5 seconds makes a HUGE difference in your journey to lose weight. You can post your photos up on Instagram to help you keep track of your food in a fun and effortless way. Trust me, this helps gather data about yourself and make it easy to make adjustments in your diet.

Weight Loss Tip Number 2 : Curb your carb intake

I look at carbs like how I see the devil. I’m quite aware that there aren’t any good carbs no matter what the scientists say. Complex carbohydrates break down very, very slowly in your body and contributes to indigestion. There are also worse simple carbs like refined carbohydrates that causes faster fats release to your body, it just goes right to your tummy! These carbs are extremely delicious but you will have to avoid this as much as possible. I personally get my calories from protein and fibre. I only have carbs once a meal so perhaps you should try it too! Make sure you stop ordering fries from fast food chains. There is really no need to over-indulge.

Weight Loss Tip Number 3 : Remix your meals

This means recipes aren’t confined to what it says on the paper. Remember you can modify your recipes, you can take things out or put things into your favourite foods to make it healthier! For example, instant noodles are my favourite meals. When I was studying in my local university, instant noodles are kind of like staples to my diet. What I do is I would break one pack of noodles into half and cook it with broccoli, tofu and many other nutritional condiments to supplement it. This just makes components of your meal healthier and ultimately make you feel much better about yourself.

Weight Loss Tip Number 4 : Water is your best friend

weightlossballtextMy weight loss bottle is with me 24/7, literally all the time. Try to sip 3 – 4 times an hour throughout the day you’ll realize that most of the time when you’re feeling hungry, you are thirsty or you are just bored. Ditch the soda, ditch the juice. If you want to drink fruit juices, please just eat the actual fruit. Juices in the hypermarkets are just liquefied sugar because they do not contain any fibre at all! Fibre is what makes the fat burning process easier on your body so remember this tip!

That’s it! I hope you enjoyed what I have to share today. Thanks

Weight Loss Tactics: Green Coffee Beans

Exciting new research demonstrates that an ingredient in raw coffee beans can lead to weight loss success.

However this ingredient - known as chlorogenic acid - is destroyed when coffee beans are roasted, so that the fat loss gain from drinking regular coffee is far less.

Weight gain and obesity are a global health crisis. Issues of cost and potential side effects of prescription weight reduction drugs have resulted in the investigation of nutraceuticals such as green coffee extract, recognized to have health advantages by influencing glucose and fat metabolism.

Raw coffee beans are the most abundant natural method of obtaining chlorogenic acid - but it can also be found in peaches, prunes, strawberries, blueberries, potatoes as well as other plant products.

Previous research has shown that chlorogenic acid decelerates the release of glucose into the blood stream, ultimately leading to reduced fat absorption. Chlorogenic acid also reduces cholesterol levels and improves glucose tolerance.

A 22-week crossover study recently looked at the efficacy and safety of a commercial green coffee extract at reducing weight and body mass in 16 overweight adults, who received either high- or low-dose green coffee extract in separate six-week treatment periods.

Study authors observed significant reductions in body weight, body mass index (BMI) and percent body fat, suggesting that green coffee extract may be an effective and inexpensive way to reduce weight in overweight adults.

An all-natural pill or capsule that assists to regulate blood sugar and promotes fat loss at the same time would be a major advance in the management of type 2 diabetes. Already, one large study indicates a 50% risk reduction for people who drank seven cups of coffee a day as opposed to those who drank only two cups a day.

In other words - all the evidence suggests chlorogenic acid as the active component in green coffee beans that aids weight loss and may help to improve glucose control in normal subjects, along with people suffering from pre-diabetes and diabetes.

Green coffee bean extract is normally consumed as a supplement since drinking liquid coffee made from unroasted coffee beans would have a bitter and unpleasant taste. Also, you’d need to drink a lot of such a coffee to get a sufficient dosage of chlorogenic acid for weight loss and other health benefits.

Why not try Green-Fu? It has natural plant based fat burners.

Hello Everyone ready for 2015..

Hi everyone.

Im new to this site, just checking things out and hope to learn and share my success as well as conflicts on this ongoing journey to maintain and improve fitness. ive always been up and down on my weight, but as I age gracefully (lol) to me its about feeling comfortable with me and how i feel about myself first. Ive always been up and down on the scale, tried just about all the fad diets, programs, but ended up reverting back to just trying not to gain anymore weight..So now i just try to take one day as it comes, get a regular routine of exercise eating better, and having a healthy mind to boot. Im on the right track, down 22 pound, 5 inches one dress size, and couldnt be more determined and happy of what 2015 brings. All I did was change the coffee i drink daily. I have an underactive thyroid that i take meds for , and metabolism sucks, but i have more energy than ever and can get through my workouts. I am able to make healthier choices because i choose too not because I have to.. and its just awesome. I hope to share and learn more on this site to maintain fitness and hopefully inspire others in that if you believe in yourself and stay consistent and find what works, than go for it and do not let anyone tell you otherwise. What works for you might not work for anyone the same way but as long you have your will..success is there!

good luck to everyone, and have a safe and happy new year.!

Here is to 2015 !

The Sound of Change

Change is the only constant in life. Every second of every day, of every moment in your life - you're changing. No matter what, change will happen; you can't avoid it. But if you do something about it; if you take initiative... it can be the change you WANT.

I've been overweight my entire life, and at 24 now, I'm realizing that denial will only hurt me further in the long run. I've gone on diets before, and there was a point in my life (right after high school) where I was actually very set on getting fit. I wanted to join the military, as it was always my dream, but while I was within the required weight limits, I was very close to stepping out of bounds. It lasted only a few months, as I talked back and forth with recruiters and got my things in order. Unfortunately, I was denied a medical waiver for an old knee injury and never made it in. After that, I gave up and fell back into my old ways.

For a long time, I've been stuck in this sort of limbo with where my life will go. I never finished college, and have minimal job experience, and its like I've been floundering about wondering what to do next. I'm thankful to have parents who are so willing to help and support me, and though its taken quite some time, I'm finally on track to a career and life that I know I can enjoy. And now that I'm starting to get my personal life in order, I believe its time I focus not just on my career goals, but on health and fitness as well.

Again, I have a very supportive family, and their Christmas gifts this year really helped push me in the right direction. My parents got me a 2-year gym subscription to 24 Hour Fitness, and my elder sister and her fiance bought me a Fitbit One to help keep track. I mean, I've only had it for a few days, and its pretty amazing already just to see the difference between my sedentary days and more active days. It even affects the quality of my sleep (the sleep tracker is so cool!), which I always knew but didn't really "believe" until now.

Anyway, even with the Fitbit, I know I need to keep myself more accountable and thus, this venture into the forum and journal began. I know that the "21 days to form a habit" myth isn't exactly accurate, but its something to aim for. 21 days... 3 weeks... its short enough that it seems attainable, but still long enough to challenge a newbie like me to push for it. I'm making goals, short term and long term, to keep me engaged, motivated, and challenged. As it stands, these are some of the basic day-to-day/weekly goals

(In no particular order)

  • 10,000 steps a day

  • Drink 64 oz. of water a day

  • Visit the gym 3-5 time a week, for a minimum of 30 min

  • Eat a serving of fruit or vegetables with every meal

I feel as if these are easy changes to implement, and nothing too tedious that would discourage me if I missed it once or twice. My long term goals are a bit more ambiguous, as my overall goal is based more on physical health and fitness, rather than a specific weight. At the moment, I'm 156 lbs at 5'2 - largely overweight for my size and frame. Although I'm aiming more for increased cardiovascular health and muscle strength, and a slimmer appearance (not necessarily skinny, but less pudgy), I'd still like to drop down to a more appropriate weight. I think perhaps aiming for a 10 lb weight loss each time would be something I could do; again, like the 21 days thing, its not too far out for reach, but it still gives me something to attain.

I don't think I'll be calorie counting. I've tried it before, and it felt like I was putting restrictions on myself, which I've never been good with. I will still keep a food log, as I do believe its important to keep track of what I eat, but I'll be going more for an 'in moderation' type of approach. For certain, I will be increasing my intake of fruits and vegetables (perhaps in the smoothie variation, as I have a Magic Bullet blender that needs more use) and looking for more whole-grain types of breads and pastas, along with leaner meats and fish. Soda and juice aren't too much of an issue for me, as I rarely drink them, though cutting my coffee consumption is something to also consider.

That's about it for now. I'm not exactly sure how to lead off, but that's it for now. I'll be back tonight and tomorrow, though the "official" start is January 1st. Good luck to everyone else on their journeys!

2015 - A Year of Health and Happiness

Hi there.

I had a very productive, positive 2014 where I made a lot of life changes for the better. I still have a long way to go, but I plan on making 2015 even better than last year when it comes to health and fitness.

I still have a lot of hangups about food, and while I try to maintain a reasonably healthy diet, I also still eat a lot of foods that I could do without. I am going to work on this for the year, avoid alcohol for the next 5 weeks, and get back into training in the gym bigtime.

I feel a little overwhelmed today and slightly sad at the fact that I need to get a lot stricter with myself if I want to see results. I lost roughly 2 stone last year, and losing another 2 stone this year would bring me into optimum shape. It's just that I have a feeling this next 2 stone will be a little trickier to shift and will largely depend on diet, whereas I lost the other 2 stone by mostly exercise and cutting down a bit on food, but not a huge amount.

Anyway, so far today, I had porridge and milk for breakfast, lemon and ginger tea, and now I'm drinking hearty tea.

I'm cooking chickpea curry with chicken for dinner, and will have an avocado omelette for my tea.

I'm heading to the gym at 6 for an abs workout, which I am dreading after the Christmas, and a quick run on the treadmill.

Here's to a great year ahead!

Making an actual change

Hi guys, I'm new to this site and the whole reason I'm joining is so that I can share my journey with you. I want to lose weight, I really do however I always struggle as I've come to love food so much. Every diet I try I fail and I just need some motivation. I'm sick of being unhappy with my body. I'm 11 stone and 10 pounds right now and trying to get to 10 stone and 7 pounds. Anyone got any recommended diet plans? Exercise tips? Anything that will help me with my journey?

The Venus Factor - Anyone tried it?

Hello everyone!

I'm Hannah and I'm an overweight 36 year old female who is trying to lose weight for my daughter's sake. I saw the review on http://www.healthmajestics.com for The Venus Factor and I'm just wondering if any other ladies on here have tried it? The review has pretty much sold me and I'm on the edge of trying it out - if I don't like it there is a 60 day money back guarantee anyway. Any thoughts on this product? If anyone here has had experience with it, it would be a great help.

Thanks!

25 ways to lose 25 pounds

25 ways to lose 25 pounds For FREE !!

So you want to lose pounds fast? You maybe thinking is it possible? Is their an approach to dieting out their that will enable me to lose my extra pounds?

Well the answer is yes, if you need to lose some weight in a short space of time then take a look at these handy tips. But when you've finished reading them, remember to take action!

1. Work out your current calorie intake.

Over the course of a few days, grab yourself a pen and paper and jot down the amount of calories you are consuming in a day. You then have something to work with. With this done you have a baseline to work from.

2. Cut out the rubbish foods you normally eat with high calorie count.

Ok, next step is to go over the foods you normally eat with a high calorie count and remove them from your diet starting from now! This means fizzy drinks, snack food and fast food etc. I'm guessing this is what it will be.

3. Replace snacking and soft drinks with 3-4 meals a day and plenty of water.

Drinking water instead of fizzy drinks dramatically improves your chances of losing pounds quickly. Why? because water doesn't contain any calories.

It's not rocket science is it. I mean, with all the articles you can read on dieting and losing weight it really does come down to some very basic steps like these.

Probably the hard part is sticking to your new way of eating. To lose weight fast will take discipline and determination from your part to avoid all the bad foods and drinks that maybe constantly thrust in your face from advertising, colleagues and friends.

Remember, you are not alone in your quest for ways to lose pounds fast and good luck to you! I'm sure you will reach your ideal weight soon.

Now is the time to act. For ways to lose pounds fast click here now :http://produefree.allalla.com/

How To Adopt To A Weight Loss Plateau

Today I would like to talk specifically about a plateau in regards to weight loss, and what exactly is it is when people who are trying to lose weight, just cannot seem to shift those extra unwanted pounds.

The first thing to understand is exactly what a plateau is. A plateau is basically a situation when the result you are trying to achieve does not take place, even when you are doing all of the required actions for the result to occur. Plateaus happen because the body gets very aligned quickly to routines and patterns that we do on a day to day basis.

Another reason why you might experience a plateau is because you may have cheated on your diet slightly or you may not have put in the hours at the gym that you promised yourself. All of the small things that you have done can make a big difference on the overall scale of things.

We all have a specific routine or pattern that we follow which we do on auto pilot without really giving it much thought process. It can be very hard to simply stop doing what you would normally do and change the way you do things. Its basic human nature, change is difficult. This is basically what happens when we hit a plateau.

In relation to weight loss, a plateau occurs because the body has got used to a specific routine or pattern that it is doing on a regular basis, so new progress is minimal or non-existent. This is one of the most frustrating experiences people go through on a weight loss program. No matter how clean and health you may eat, and how intense the workouts you are doing are, the progress you make is minimal or little to none.

OK so now we know what a plateau is, how to we break through this cycle?

There are several proven strategies that can be used to combat this situation.............:hurray:

The 3 Week Diet Plan - It worked for me.

Hello everyone!

Well, I just joined this forum to say that I recently tried the 3 Week Diet Plan that I saw while searching the net. I'm a 24 year old male who was severely overweight, and after finally deciding to do something about it, I decided to purchase this 3 Week Diet Plan. It was only $47 but it offered a full 100 percent refund so I didn't see any issues with trying it out. To my surprise, it has worked wonders for me. I'm still overweight after using this diet scheme for 4 weeks, but I have already lost around 9.2kgs since starting on the diet given in the programme. The programme also includes a exercise manual, and a motivation manual. The motivation manual was of huge help to me, but I still havn't started with the exercise manual - it looks good to me but my main focus has been on changing my diet. The diets are suited towards your body type and they are very straightforward and simple to follow.

Theres nothing much else I need to say, except that you can believe the slight hype that has been surrounding this product. It really is the truth. You won't go from obese to skinny in 3 weeks but it gives you great progress in a short period of time.

Click here to go to The 3 Week Diet Plan website, for anyone who is interested.

3 Safe Tips For Abdominal Exercises For The Obese

Everyone wants the tight ab look that we see on movie stars and athletes. When people think of how to get tight abs they almost always think of sit ups or crunches. That is only half of the equation though.

The truth is that no matter how strong your abdominal muscles are, if they're covered by a layer of fat no one will see them. To get great abs you need to combine exercises that will tone your abdominal muscles as well as help you increase your heart rate and lose fat. If your are obese you will have added challenges, but there are some abdominal exercises for obese people that can help.

It's important to keep in mind that your abdominal area consists of several different muscle groups. You have lower muscles, upper muscles, and oblique (side) muscles. To get a really hot midsection you'll need to do different exercises so that you are targeting all these areas.

If you are really overweight it may be difficult to get down on the floor and work your abs. Not to worry, though, there are easy ab workouts that you can do standing up, you won't lose any effectiveness but you will save a lot of wear and tear on your back and knees.

Here are some ideas of standing ab exercises that you can try today, just make sure you talk to your doctor first to make sure it's ok:

1. The first standing ab exercise you can try is to stand with your feet shoulder width apart, raise your arms straight above your head, slowly lower your arms while simultaneously raising one of your knees, keep your leg and arms at a 90 degree angle, put that leg down while raising your arms back up and alternate the same thing with the other leg. Do at least 30 sets on each side.

2. Stand with your legs shoulder width apart, take a step forward with one leg, carefully lift the leg that is forward a few inches off the floor, slowly make circles using just your foot - try to keep the leg still and straight, make 20 circles in one direction then (using the same foot) circle 20 times in the other direction, than alternate with the other leg.

3. Stand with your legs shoulder width apart, hold a 10 to 20 pound dumbbell in each hand, slowly lean to one side keeping your legs straight - this move should only involve your obliques (side abdominal) muscles, after you've completed 20 reps on one side, do the other side.

It's not that easy to learn how to do an exercise just by reading an article, but these standing abdominal exercises I've listed above will give you an idea of where to start. Just remember that even if you are very overweight, there are still abdominal exercises for obese people that can help you tone those all important ab muscles.

Talk to your doctor before you start any exercise plan and if possible find yourself a personal trainer so that they can watch you and make sure you are using the proper form, otherwise you may injure yourself and that will only slow down your weight loss efforts.

How To Lose Weight Faster Without Exercise, Diet Programs or Pills

Over the years, I've seen countless weight loss products come and go. A lot of them use real whoppers in order to get you to buy them then offer very little in terms of substance.

So I have to admit that I was dubious when I first heard about the Metabolic Fat Factor. Granted, it's a catchy name. But would it really deliver when it counted? In other words, would it genuinely help people to lose weight?

I ordered Metabolic Fat Factor and it was immediately delivered to me electronically. That was a nice way to start. Within just a few minutes after I ordered it, I was sent a link and when I clicked on it, then entire course downloaded in just a couple of minutes.

When I opened it up, I have to admit that I was surprised by what I saw. The course describes a weight loss method that is so revolutionary, so singular, and so groundbreaking that it astonished me that somebody had not thought of this earlier.

Metabolic Fat Factor is all based on the idea that you can ramp up the speed of your body's metabolism through the foods you eat. In other words, you can eat certain foods – such as hot peppers, lean meats, lots of proteins, and so on – and as your body digests these foods, it causes chemical changes within your metabolism that causes it to speed up.

Ingenious! It made perfect sense. The physiology of the whole program was consistent with what I know about human anatomy. And all the pieces really seemed to fit together.

But when I delved even further into the product, I found another surprise. Not only does Metabolic Fat Factor explain why it's weight loss program works, it even includes all the recipes you need to get started right away.

The recipes are conveniently arranged according to meal types. There are categories for breakfast, lunches and dinners, of course, but there also are categories for mid-morning snacks, small afternoon meals, and even tasty and delicious desserts. In short, Metabolic Fat Factor provides everything you need to get started losing weight quickly in one convenient, affordable package.

Oh, and I almost forgot: Metabolic Fat Factor even comes complete with a 14 day meal planner that tells you exactly what you should be eating at every moment of the day for the first two weeks of the program. What could be easier than that?

Metabolic Fat Factor is one of the best digital weight loss products I have come across. I strongly recommend it. If you really want to know more about this, visit this link - http://bit.ly/metabolicfatfactor

Hey everyone!

Merry Christmas to everybody!

My name is John, and I joined today to ensure thst I'm part of a supportive community of people who are committed to similar goals!

Over the past year and a half, I've lost about 80 lbs, and after recently taking a couple of months off, I've been back in the gym for four weeks straight, mainly focusing on cardio. I do inclined, fast-paced walking for 60 minutes every morning at 5:30AM, followed by some crunches. I've lost another 6 lbs.

If anybody would like to offer advice on where to begin with strength training, and which weight machines I might start off on, I'd be super grateful. I'd like to focus on chest and arms, but also...should I continue to bulk up my hamstrings and calves since I burn the most calories there?

Thanks for reading! Any advice I can offer on my lifestyle change and results, please never ever hesitate to ask!

Hola!

Hello, I'm new to weight-loss fitness.com

I'm a fitness and health dude, who's in the process of developing my online presence.

I've posted some tips from my site...

*Note, I am not flogging my site, I would actually love guidance on how to develop some sound advice! getfitmadam

1. Eat often and eat for pleasure: Plan meals and snacks ahead of time. Never get to that gnawing point of no return, when you stomach begins to eat itself. Almonds, yogurt, eggs and fruit are your friend!

2. Drink lots of water! It’s simple, but sometimes we forget how powerful good old H20 is for so many vital areas in our life. It keeps you full, hydrates the body and is also great for the skin.

3. Sleep! Yes, I know, especially in this 21st century, were working longer and harder and have every stimulation known to man. Sometimes you just need to shut it all off and sleep, deprivation will alter the level of hormones that make you hungry. Sleep and be merry.

4. Cut out the soda, all of it! We know regular soda is bad, but as an occasional diet soda drinker myself, I know the sweet bubbly burst of energy is addictive and enticing. Experts will tell us, that all soda, including diet is not good! The artificial sweeteners are known to in fact help you with subtle weight gain.

5. Add some spice! I’m a spice nut, a chili head, whatever you want to call it….and believe it or not spicy food will keep you feeling fuller for longer and provide you with some pretty sweet endorphin’s. So pile on the peppers and chili heads unite!

6 Soup it up! We love soup in our household, I’ll make huge batches at a time and freeze the leftovers, providing us with up to 7 or 8 separate meals. Soup is healthy, affordable, and fun to make (its all about building flavour.) It will leave you full and cozy, like a nice warm blanket in your stomach.

7. Get rid of the junk! Yes chips are great, salt is wonderful, but has anyone ever gorged on a bag of chips and said to themselves as their wiping up the last crumb; ‘that was a great idea.’ It will be tough (and you may occasionally fall victim) but if you going to snack keep it healthy. Veggies and dip, yogurts, nuts, sugar free peanut/almond butter, apples, whole wheat crackers, the list goes on, make a game out of it, trying to find the best snack that’s also healthy.

8. Eat your final meal before 7pm! No good choice are made after 7 (I should know, I used to be a serial later night eater, and I was about 30 pounds heavier.) It’s also a lot harder to digest if your eating than lying down, and difficulty sleeping could also become a factor.

9. Take your lunch to work! This one is vital for two reasons, your body and your bank account. I used to buy lunch every day at work and yes, maybe one day out of the week it will be a healthy choice, but 9 times out of 10, your heading for the burgers/wraps/high sugar smoothies etc…Make meals on Sunday, freeze and enjoy. This will allow you to know what’s in the food and usually a home cooked meal is significantly better than the chafing dished slop they pile on in the lunch room. Not to mention you’ll probably save upwards of $40 a week.

10. Don’t trust the ‘fat free,’ or ‘zero trans fat,’ options. They will stick you with an inordinate amount of sugar or sodium.

Ellen's weight loss journey - one day at a time

Today is the first day of my change in lifestyle which will result in me being a healthier weight!

1.How much weight do I want to lose? I am currently 12st 8lbs. My final target is be a weight of 10st. My first goal is to achieve a weight of 11st 13lbs. My second goal is to achieve a weight of 11st 3lbs. At this stage my new lifestyle will be put in place.

Timeframe: 1 year from today 21-Dec-15

How to I want to accomplish this goal: I want a healthy lifestyle including a minimum of 30 mins exercise a day and a healthy eating plan. I want to use this forum as a support to reach this goal :)

Who or what can support reaching this goal:

I want to use this forum as a support to reach this goal :) and keep this goal in mind as a primary thought throughout the day.

I also want my husband and sister to support me.

I want my daughter to grow up with a healthy lifestyle with exercise as part of the norm and a healthy diet.

Most of all I want to do this for me, I want more energy and a more positive body image.

My goal is very realistic, I can do this.

I am starting right now.

1. Current weight 12st 8lbs

Current height 5'6

2. Ideal weight 10st

3. 4 month target 11st 8lbs

4. I want to lose weight for many reasons. I want to feel better about the way I look. I want to have more energy. I want to walk into a shop and not be limited to what I can buy because of size. I want to be healthier now so I can be healthier in later life. I want to live life to the full. I don't want to constantly hold my tummy in. I want to look at photos and not be disappointed with how 'fat' I look. I want to be fit. I want to be more positive. I want to have the strength and will to do this. I want to enjoy life as a new slimmer me.

6. Obstacles

Food, I love food. I need to plan out what I am going to eat during the day and stick to the plan. I need to prepare ahead of time. I need to do a weekly shop for healthy foods and not just random stops at the shop when I am hungry.

Will power is low, I need to have support around me

Lazy, I can easily persuade myself to start exercising tomorrow or start healthy eating tomorrow, that has to change.

8. Lifestyle Changes

Plan my week out in advance of what I am going to eat and what exercise I am going to do.

Set little goals and mini rewards to keep me motivated.

Make time to look after my health.

9. I had a baby last January and I have not been able to lose the weight. When I was pregnant I put on a lot of weight and was diagnosed with gestational diabetes. In addition to this during pregnancy I found out my thyroid hormones are quite low. Since having my baby my thyroid gland fluctuated in the amount of hormones it produced and settled down recently, so I am on tablets for that. I spoke to my doctor and she said the thyroid issue may be slowing down my metabolism and that is why I am finding it difficult to lose the baby weight. It also is a reason why I am so tired. I am not going to use this as an excuse but as a reason I have to

work even harder. Before my pregnancy I was a healthy weight with no issues.

11. For me I need to stick to a plan. I have gone exercising a bit and eat healthy for a while. I just need to commit myself to this.

17. I will take a second before eating something and ask do I really want this?

I will plan out my meals better

I will eat breakfast, lunch and dinner. After that only snack on fruit, yoghurt, veg if necessary

18. I want a flat tummy and toned arms and no double chin.

19. I can't really remember what it feels like to be hungry, I just eat at meal times (too much obviously) and snack throughout the day.

20. Binge eat sometimes, that's why I try not to buy too much in the house, sometimes I just eat and eat and eat - not really even tasting the food.

21. I do not hide food or eat in secret

22. Yes, eat when sad, nervous, depressed.

23. Yes, eat as a reward.

24. Yes, eat when watching TV

29. I like to exercise, its just getting the motivation to exercise. I like all exercises, swimming, running, jogging, gym classes.

Queston/Feedback/Help with weight loss.

Hello everyone, I just joined the forums.

I really need a question answered, but first I should probably give you some information about myself. I am 17|5'10|275lb. Yes, I am very big. I come from a family of big people, and they like their food. I have tried for the past 2 years (literally) to try and get my parents to actually buy healthy food, they end up coming home with cup cakes, chips, gummies, candy, hot pockets, and just a lot of junk food.

For the pass 2 days I have "starved" myself. Not completely starved, day one I ate one piece of sausage, and day two I ate a bowl of rice, and two hash browns. I saw you could lose 10+ pounds a week, for the first few weeks from doing this, and I understand the health risk, but I feel likes its my only chance.

I am going to start walking a little, then work a little job into it until I can run continuously for over a mile. And I do plan, once I drop like 20-30lbs too start eating again, but healthy + running on top of it.

I honestly just need feed back on this if that makes sense? I did a few hours of google searching, but it seems like most people that starve them self are just trying to lose 10lbs. But yeah, I am just looking for feedback/help with my problem, it will help too read someone replying too me, rather then someone replying to a 150lb 16 year old wanting to cut 10lbs.

Anyways, thank you for reading my thread and replying if you do.

Time for a new life!

Hello! My name is Kim and I am 22. I weigh a dramatic 283 pounds. Six years ago I had weighed 300 pounds and was sick of my appearance. I changed and I lost 130 pounds and loved myself. I moved out on my own with my best friend and started drinking pop again and that went on a landslide from there. I had been happy, active, I felt beautiful! I gained all my weight back and now feel like a mess. I am happy and I suppose I didn't care about my weight thanks to a man I met. I fell in love and he proposed. I was shocked. The woman he had been with was small and slender so what he saw in me I didn't see. He always tells me I am beautiful and I am happy he sees that but I can't. I have confidence, to a degree. I have become social and have more friends then I ever have had. My weight hadn't been a problem to me until he proposed. I began looking at wedding dresses and thinking of the future. I want to look beautiful on my wedding day. I have decided it was high time to drop this weight, I felt disgusted with my body suddenly when the thought of wearing a beautiful dress came to mind. I began thinking of children since we both want a family and I want my kids to be proud of their mother. There is also a lingering fear that my weight may complicate me having children. My goal isn't huge. I would like to reach 200 pounds within the year, hopefully more but I want to at least set my goal to something obtainable then continue when I reach that. My ultimate goal is to be 140 pounds. By my wedding day though I would be so proud to walk down the aisle 83 pounds lighter. I hope I can get there and I will start by dropping the pop. I feel cold turkey is the best option. I can drink more then a 2 liter a day. I think switching to a cup of coffee will cut the cravings for caffeine down and keep me energized; bonus is all the money me and my man will save from not purchasing tons of pop . When I lost my weight the first time that is all I really did. Cut the pop out, drank water, and began walking my 5 mile road everyday. Now I don't have a 5 mile stretch of country road but I will pick up exercising, I bought a set of weights and some DvDs for exercise ideas. I am crossing my fingers and am ready to change to a new me!

lundi 22 décembre 2014

Can you please direct me on losing 1 pound in 5 days?

I am 5'7 and weigh 157.2 lbs right now. My short term goal is 118 lbs by my birthday (July 26th of next year), and I am considering whether I should set a long term goal of 105 lbs for May 2016. I would like to approach this goal by losing 1 pound in 5 days. My plan is to walk 7 miles from Leslie Sansone's Walk & Talk DVD for 90 minutes on one day and alternate to going to the gym on the other day and doing an hour on the treadmill and 20 laps in the pool. I would alternate these routines day by day and work-out everyday. How does that sound? Is it a good idea to work out everyday or take a rest from exercising on one or two days per week? Please elaborate. Thank you!

Life Changing Story 57 Year Old Man 53 pounds in 6 weeks! without surgery or drugs

My name is Michael Wren,

back in 2012 I was pronounced by doctors to be death in 6 months because of how fat I was, I was really obese at that moment..

I was really desperate because I could not find any method that could help me lose weight...I even tried the Gastric Bypass back in 2010 and lost almost 100 pounds in just a year, but after some months I went back to the weight I was before the bypass because of the bad eating habits I had at that moment.

All that changed when I met this method that I really want to share with you guys

It is a No-surgery, No-drugs method that will make you lose weight and make you healthy in no time, the only thing you must do is follow what the method says and you will lose a lot of weight, I managed to lose 53 pounds in just 6 weeks with it after being pronounced to be death, but I did not stop and I worked hard to achieve those results.

Basically most of the methods (like surgery) are focused on the problem(being fat) but this method is not focused on the problem, it is focused on the solution, thats why If you try everything that is here, it is guaranteed that you will quit being fat.

Just go check the method here!

Hi, I'm new to the forum. I currently take psych meds, and as anybody in my situation knows, these drugs cab bloat you up. I cut out soda cold turkey, and I drink green tea and tons of water. Where else should I focus on? I like intervals, a bit of stretching, and some strength training.

Spidey's weight loss journey - the diary

Hello fellow warriors,

This is Spidey. I am 84 kilos and 24 years old. I want to lose 4 kg's of weight until Feb 1st. That's my immediate goal. Over-all broad goal is to lose fat and also have my weight around 73 kilos with good muscle shape and posture along with better endurance, stamina and flexibility.

First things first - the acceptance. I have been over weight all through my life. I had pockets of physical activity throughout my life but i guess i have wrong habits of diet. Anyway point is, I am FAT and I have wanted to change it from a really long time but have failed it time and again. I have really low self esteem when it comes to weight and i want to accept it. I am also shit scared that i might fail and be a loser yet again. I also am very afraid of embarking on this journey as all these days i have postponed it citing one reason or another.

Now the load of repressed uncomfortable feelings are put out, i feel much better.

Some factors and positives that will help me along are :

1. I have great support at home, people cooking what i want when i want.

2. Have membership in all the clubs and gyms. So have good facilities for physical exercise.

3. I have no major goal until next 3-4 months. I can actually focus on physical well being only.

4. My pug is over weight too, so i will have a partner in my dieting :D

My plan would be to:

1. Drink 3 litres of water everyday.

2. Replace after breakfast tea which has good amounts of milk and sugar to a green tea.

3. Daily physical activity of badminton every morning from Jan 1st.

4. Will introduce hopefully 3 days of gym every week.

5. Jog/run in the evenings at a nearby park.

6. Will stand up once in a while/take walks in between.

7. More importantly, while "feeling good" will not happen and all these will be a pain in the ass until i get fit, i will try to be positive as much as i can and appreciate myself when i can.

8. Have an eating plan as we all know, if it's not planned, it will not happen.

Eating plan=

1. banana after waking up.

shuttle and everything until 9.

breakfast of multi grain roti ( indian bread ) with vegetable curry.

12 - lunch same as breakfast.

2 - peanuts/ almonds handful

4 - one brown bread and omlette

7 - dinner same as breakfast.

Will plan to have fixed sleeping hours as much as possible. I am really bad at discipline of sleeping.

This is my overall plan guys. Please support me, i will when i can.

Diabetes Drink 3 Sugar Free Drink Solutions

Don’t you just hate it when you ask for a sugar free drink in a pub or restaurant and all they’ve got to offer is diet cola or water?

Or you’re offered a pure fruit juice – “Well, that’s sugar free – isn’t it?” No it isn’t – the sugar that occurs naturally in fruit juice is very high and that will play havoc with your blood sugar levels. But here are a few drinks you might like to try…

sugar free diet weight loss

I got so fed up of the standard cola offer, I decided to experiment with mixing the different sugar free drinks that are available and you might like to try these alternatives to ‘just cola’.

1) The first experiment I tried was to mix a diet cola and diet tonic water in the same glass. Then I added ice and lemon. The mixture gives a slightly sharper taste and it makes a very long and refreshing drink on a hot summer’s day.

2) Then I tried splitting a pure orange fruit juice (you could also try pineapple or tomato juice) with a friend and added sparkling water to my half of the juice. You could also try mixing your juice with diet tonic water.

3) If you want to make a refreshing drink at home, this pineapple slushy will hit your dry spot:

Take 1 can sugar-free ginger ale, add 1/4 cup of unsweetened pineapple juice and ice cubes.

Place in a blender and blend until the ice-cubes are crushed and you get a slushy mixture.

Why not experiment with other unsweetened fruit juices? And, if you want a little bit more of a kick, you could add rum extract to give it more flavor.

If you have any more ideas or recipes for sugar-free drink I would really love to hear about them.

Having trouble losing the remaining fat, help!

Hi, name's Ivan, and I'm a sort of a skinnyfat couch potato trying to look a little better and hopefully get more active by doing so.

I used to be an obese individual, weighing about 105 kilograms. Through rather extreme dieting (ate 800 - 1500 calories daily, with an average of 1000 - 1200) packed with intense cardio every day, I've managed to shed 32 kilos over the course of a little less than 4 months. Now I'm down to 72.

By doing so I've lost the meager muscle mass I've had, especially in my arms and shoulders, for which i suspect intense cardio packed with the overly high deficit to be to blame for - and seeing that, and how I was pretty content with the amount of fat I've seemingly lost otherwise, I've decided it was high time to stop. Getting back to eating normally was a a slow process, but it went well, until..

As I regained the water weight or whatever it was that resulted from me eating more (though not more than i should have been eating, i am sure of this) i became dissatisfied with myself again. My entire torso looks disfigured, disproportional, and pretty ugly.

I lost the weight by the beginning of 2013, and have been trying to shed the remaining five or so kilos ever since mid 2013, admittedly through dieting alone but with dieting through a healthier deficit. Firstly by eating 1600 kcal a day for two months, with unavoidable 2500 calorie binges on saturday and sunday (arguably the amount I should be eating?), but it really seemed to do nothing long term.

I stopped because again I was satisfied with how I looked without what I suspect to be water weight - until that was nullified when I started to eat properly, and again I've grown insecure of how I look. Later I tried getting back to old methods several times but could not retain the willpower to do it for more than 2 weeks for various reasons.

Apologies for unsightly garments, the pictures were taken at odd hours, as well as not being able to hotlink (forums giving me trouble) I recommend enlarging the pictures otherwise.

The important bits:

I know whatever I was doing wasn't the wisest thing to do, and because I'm suspecting further dieting at all is unwise for many reasons and its why I'm here asking you for advice.

I'm up for anything, really, just as long as I'd be sure if it would work and is within reason. I have no money for the gym, as much as I'd prefer that, but I have a room of my own for exercise and the great outdoors for running. (Got Charles Bronson's solitary workout book as a guide, don't have the time to question the credibility of it, but it seems promising) I am however afraid that further dieting or cardio alone would further ruin my looks and health both, but it is all I know.

Above all I'd like somebody who knows more than myself tell me what it is that they see on my chest; do I simply lose fat in an unlucky way, or could it be the result of how fast and unhealthy I've lost the weight? have I hit a roadblock of sorts? (if so, how to get past it), do I have any skin sagging or is it the lack of muscle mass that's causing how I look? A body fat estimate would also be appreciated.

In a nutshell - Any advice on how to shed the remaining weight or at least "repair" the problematic areas through exercise or a specific diet would be very appreciated. Thanks!

Hi Everyone I'm New Here

I just wanted to introduce myself. I am here to be a support as well as be supported in my journey. Diabetes is a big part of my family on my dad's side. His parents had it, he had it, my brother and sister have it (they got it before the age of 30). I grew up watching my dad experience horrible things because of diabetes, from loss of sight to both legs being amputated, finally a huge part due to his death at an early age. This honestly sparked a huge desire and drive in me to make sure that number 1 I never experience this, and secondly to do my best to find some type of answer to fighting diabetes. I work to make sure my diet and exercise keeps the unhealthy weight off. We all have those things we love, and I love my sweets, but I fight to make sure they don't consume me. I just want to continue to learn as much as I can about diabetes and help as many people as possible not have to experience what I have seen a lot of my family experience.

Two kids and baby weight won't leave.

I'm new to this site, and looking for a way to hopefully find some motivation to lose weight. I was always kind of overweight from age 12 until my senior year of highschool when I found out I was pregnant, then I really packed on the pounds. I started living with my now husband and we ate whatever we wanted when we wanted, and I was in the mindset of "Oh I'm pregnant and can eat whatever, I will lose the weight after." I was 160 before I got pregnant and after I had my son in May 2011 my starting weight was 207. I quickly realized how hard losing weight actually was. I went on the 17 day diet and by December 2011 I was down to 192. Then I got engaged in March of 2012 and decided it was time to lose more weight. I then tried weight watchers for a few months, and on my wedding day in August 2012 I was down to 175 about 15 pounds away from my highschool weight. I started getting discouraged when I started losing weight slowly, so I did something I never thought I'd do. At first it was nothing to me, if i just felt overly full or bloated I would throw up what I ate. I felt in control of when I did it and didn't see it as a big deal. Then I started throwing up every single thing I ate, no matter what it was. Even if I just ate an apple I would feel super full and feel the need to throw up. I started seeing it as a big problem and didn't know how to stop. In May of 2013 I weighed 135 lbs. I felt decent about my body but hated what I was doing to myself. I hated looking in the mirror and seeing stretch marks and a belly pooch even though I'd lost so much weight. I continued to make myself throw up until November of 2013 I found out I was expecting again. I knew right away I had to stop, which I did, but right away where I was used to throwing up everything I quickly gained 20 lbs within a span of a few weeks because my body wasn't used to tolerating any type of food. Right before I had my second son in July 2014 I weighed 215 lbs. It is now December 2014 and I've gotten down to 194 by doing low carb but as soon as I stopped I'm right back at 216 lbs. I don't know what to do. I don't want to go back to making myself throw up but I have no motivation. I feel depressed about my weight, and I absolutely hate my body. I can't even begin to describe the awful things that run through my mind about myself on a daily basis. I want to healthily get down to 125 lbs so thats 90 lbs and I just don't know how to do it. I know the basic rules, eat less; eat healthy; excercise; drink water. More or less I don't know how to find the motivation. I want to feel good about myself and not get out of breath walking up 15 steps. I want to be healthy for my kids, husband, and myself. I'm 22 and don't want to look back on my life thinking I could have been skinny but I didn't try.

The big Three-Oh

Hello, fellow forum dwellers.

I'm so happy I found this website... It's exactly what I need to get me motivated.

Let me start the basics, and then I'll say my plans.

As of today, December 20th, 2014. (9:45 PM EST)

I am 16 years old,

and I way something under 400 lbs.

Though that sounds dire, and probably terrible to whomever reading this,

let it be known that I can walk, run, jump, even play sports. *Which I do, from time to time.*

I'm 5'10, as well, and I have about a 54 waist line.

I want to make it clear that I understand the importance of not setting huge goals before the small ones, so I'll do it the right way.

My long term goals?

[ 350 ]

[ 300 ]

and finally,

[ 250 ]

Some might question why I'd stop there,

and that's because I have some what of an idea to pursue weight training, and some sort of sport.

So I really don't want to lose every pound.

NOW--

time to get to the good stuff.

My diet as of tomorrow will hopefully consist of a few things,

and I'm open to criticism.

1. Calories: 1750

2. Carbs: Not yet to be limited.

3. Keep Sugary drinks / foods to a bare minimum.

Now that's said and done, I should be more specific.

BREAKFAST:

2 Boiled Eggs

Small Spoon of: Mustard, Mayo

Some Salt.

Small cup of Coffee *my only sugary drink of the day.*

LUNCH:

2 Chicken Patties, *no bread*

Small spoon of ketchup.

Water.

DINNER:

Whatever my mother decides to cook,

but a small serving of it.

and more water.

E X E R C I S E:

1. Up and down stairs as much as possible.

2. Try a few sit ups.

3. Take a walk.

* * * PLEASE DO CRITIQUE MY PLANNING, IM FAIRLY NEW TO ACTUALLY SUCCEEDING WITH DIET/EXERCISE PLANS.

My baby is almost 1 and I still look pregnant :(

I am getting really tired of people asking me am I pregnant. My little girl is nearly 1 and I am still carrying a lot of weight I put on during pregnancy. I go through phases of eating well and exercising but keep falling back. I really want to make a go of loosing weight now but I'm not sure where to start. I think food is my biggest enemy - I need to make healthier choices. I'm hoping to get some support here to focus on loosing this weight. I really want to recognise myself again when I look in the mirror. Please reply with tips and support :)

Cooking With Eggs

We use eggs in so many recipes. They are a staple in the kitchen.

An egg can be cooked alone – boiled, poached, fried, scrambled.

Or used as an ingredient in baking, batters and cakes.

Alternatively use an egg to thicken sauces or to add air to lighten dishes.

The egg is truly amazing. And without it – well our menus sure would be dull.

But do you know much about the egg?

Chances are that you have never even given it a thought. Well it is time you did.

The most critical aspect of the egg is – it’s air content. (bet you thought I was going to say the shell).

When first laid, the egg has barely any air inside a tiny air pocket. However, because the shell is porous, it allows air to penetrate. And as time passes, air moves inside the egg and the air pocket grows.

As this air pocket enlarges, the moisture in the egg evaporates. So, as the egg gets older the yolk becomes less plump and flatter and the white separates and spreads.

And this all impacts on cooking. Depending on how you intend on using the egg determines how fresh an egg you should use.

If you fry an older egg, you will end with a flat ‘pancake’ instead of a neat rounded egg.

The more stale an egg the more fragile and difficult to separate it will be.

As opposed to the fresh egg, which has a tight and tough inner skin. This makes peeling the shell off the boiled egg very frustrating. As the egg ages with skin relaxes allowing the shell to peel much easier.

If you are lucky enough to have your own hens, then you know how old your eggs are. But what if you have to buy them?

The easiest method of tell how old an egg is, is to put the egg in a dish of water.

If it sinks and lies horizontally – very fresh.

If it sinks but tilts slightly – about 1 week old.

If it sinks but stands vertically – older, stale.

But if it floats – it’s off and be careful not to crack the shell.

Some people prefer brown eggs and some white. But nutritionally they are the same.

The yolks will also vary in color depending of the diet of the hen.

Do you find your eggs crack when boiling? Well, follow these simple steps to get perfect eggs, every time.

egg diet weight loss

Use 2 week old eggs and ensure they are at room temperature. Make as pin prick in the rounded flat end of the egg – this allows any steam that might build up to escape.

Use as small a saucepan as possible, so the eggs fit in snuggly – you don’t want to much space otherwise they may bounce around and crack.

Bring to the boil but only simmer do not boil vigorously. Follow these tips and your eggs won’t crack.

So, for frying and poaching use as fresh an egg as possible. When the recipe calls for eggs to be separated, use fresh eggs as well. But if you want easy to peel eggs use the older ones. And when it comes to scrambling, fresher is best but older ones will do.

Fitness And Exercise Finding The Right Program For You

Garland Valley RN,BSN

Fitness and exercise are gaining popularity in our culture for many reasons. Reactions against the sedentary lifestyles Americans have lived for decades, a rash of type two diabetes with people engaging in fitness and exercise to improve their conditions, parents encouraging youngsters to get up and away from the television and work out, and the baby boomers, pursuing fitness and exercise as they age, to allow them to enjoy their advanced years. Regardless of the reasons, many Americans take fitness and exercise very seriously.

A healthy body is what most people are striving for. We are inundated constantly with images of slender, toned people. Be it on television or on a billboard as we’re driving down the street. Fitness isn’t all about the weight that the scale says or the dress or trouser size you wear. Fitness is about how healthy you are.

Exercise is vital in the quest for body fitness. Many people join a gym for the convenience of having all the equipment they feel they need to work out. There are machines there to strengthen and tone every muscle in your body. With the onset of personal trainers, the process can be almost effortless. In that case, the exerciser is given a prescribed routine of exercise that will help them achieve the fitness level and body weight that they desire.

Fitness and exercise aren’t restricted to the confines of a gym. Any type of movement can be considered exercise. By taking those movements, a step further a person can work towards their own personal fitness goal.

For a person who lives in an apartment building, the decision of whether to take the stairs or the elevator might seem inconsequential, but those steps up to their floor everyday equal a leg workout. Choosing to hike it up the flight of steps gives not only the legs a chance to stretch, but it also gives the heart a chance to beat faster. By choosing this everyday, the body would begin to respond in a positive way.

The same can be said for walking as opposed to driving. Often when a destination is close people feel inclined to get in their car and drive there and then drive the route back. Lacing up a pair of walking shoes and heading out the door on foot is considered exercise and the benefits aren’t only restricted to the gasoline that will be saved. The entire body will feel the results and if that walk is taken several times a week, perhaps even daily, the fitness level of that person increases.

Exercise can occur in almost every environment. It’s up to the health-conscious person to grab those moments and seize them. By mowing the lawn, the legs and arms are being worked out. Carrying the laundry is akin to lifting lightweights and chasing a toddler eventually equals a few laps around the running track. Paying attention to these same details and using them to their fitness advantage will result in so many health benefits.
