motivation - day 0

tomorrow begins my first day of going back to the gym and really understanding what discipline it takes to loose weight and make better choices with life and food.

here we go!

Pick Your Poison Challenge For December

Here are the rules.

1 - Pick one diet / exercise related challenge for yourself and reward your point 1 point per day for everyday you meet your challenge.

2 - Pick a second challenge for yourself (it can be diet / exercise related, but does not have to be) and reward yourself 1 point per day for everyday you meet your challenge.

3 - Set a weight loss goal for the end of December and if you hit it, reward yourself with 4 points (since there are 4 weeks in a month). If you go by measurements over weight, set yourself a measurement goal for the end of the month and if you hit you get the same 4 points.

21 Day Fat Loss Program

How I did it

I had always thought of losing weight as a hard and limiting thing to do. That's probably because I had never really put my heart and soul into it before, and I pictured hours and hours at the gym going through an extensive workout routine. I worked over 50 hours a week so I had no time to lose weight, or so I thought. I didn't think I'd ever find the time to take any weight off, then finally my doctor told me that I needed to lose weight or I'd be in serious trouble.

I cried for a couple of days to a friend of mine, then she mentioned the 21 Day Fat Loss Program. I was skeptical at first but I needed a quick solutions to my weight problem. I decided to give it a go.

I ended up losing about 35 pounds in a three weeks, and I'm thrilled and so is my doctor.Although I didn't tell him how I done it.

Help with final stretch! Last bit of body flab!

Hi all,

35 Year old male. 6 ft 3" tall. I have been on a 12 months fitness drive as i let go for a few years and started piling on the pounds. October 2013 i weighed 17 stones which is equivalent to 238llb.

After constant diet and excursise i went down to 200lbs. This is my current diet regime including excersize. May i add that i lead an incredibly busy work life and fitting excersize in at this current level has been a challenge! Anyway, as of the last 5 months, my diet/excersize has been:

7.45am Breakfast - 3 scrambled eggs (2 egg whites only 1 with yolk), 1 seeded batch brown toast no butter

10.30am - impact diet whey protein shake

1pm - lunch usually soup with a tuna mayo wrap.

5pm - handful of nuts

7.30pm - meal consisting of chicken and veg or fish and veg etc.

Weekends i do tend to go out and will let go. burgers chips, pizza etc. usually one night...

Excersize:

Sunday football 5 aside quite competitive t shirt is totaly wet

Tuesday - 45 minute personal trainer HIIT workout including resistance training - I am pushed to my limit here

Friday - Same session with PT - he has recently started including weight training e.g squats deadliest

my PT sessions also include lots of core workout inc planks, press ups situps, squats, lunges etc.

My work as a school teacher involves being on my feet all day.

I am eating around 2000 calories a day - and i try to hit 180g of protein a day.

I have made significant strides with my fitness. I am probably still running past players in the last 5 minutes of a football game.

I am at the stage now where my body shape has changed but i am struggling to shift the last bit of body flab. Particular the spare tyre (really flabby skin) around the waist and also around the chest. Everything else is very toned. Legs, buttocks very toned.

My aim is to be slim, toned, defined and agile instead of big and bulky.

What do i need to do/change in order to lose the tyre round the stomach? When i tense my stomach, i can feel hard abs behind the skin - but the skin is still loose and flabby. I am stuck for ideas!

Feel free to look at my pic. My pants come above waist so the tyre is hidden in this image. But if i breathe out and lower the pants a little, there is a lot to hold !! (Handles!!!!)

Advice welcome to help meet my last target of losing that last bit of body flab.

Fitness Workout Program - Proven Ways to Get Motivated

If you want to make the best of your Fitness Workout Program at home - then getting yourself motivated is of the most vital importance and you should read this article all the way to the end to get all my tips. Specifically, I'll cover how to get yourself motivated, preparing for your workout and creating the right mindset. After you're done with this article you should be able to start your fitness workout fully ready, prepared and motivated.

Preparing For Your Workout ...

Before we get to the actual physical side of exercising, we'll need to have the necessary energy in order to exert ourselves. Just as you'd fill up you car with fuel before setting off on a journey, so too must we fill up also.

I won't go into the science of what to eat and what not to eat, as we are all quite well aware of what pertains to a reasonably healthy diet. It is well advised though, that one should eat a carb based meal at least 2 hours before starting your fitness workout program.

The Two Conflicting Voices ...

Just like most people, I find it much easier and enjoyable to be lazy and do nothing. So, when I'm sitting there thinking about going through my fitness workout I normally hear two voices in my head.

There's the negative lazy voice that says, "Tony, you feel so comfortable where you are right now. You don't really need to do your exercises today. You can catch up and do them tomorrow. It won't hurt to have another day off. Besides, you're favourite TV show is about to come on. Why not leave it to tomorrow when you'll feel much more like working out." Does this sound like one of the voices you hear?

And then, there's the other positive get-up-and-go voice that's saying to me, "you know just how good you'll feel and look once you've done your workout. It'll be over before you know it. Imagine how those new tighter fitting clothes will look on you as I really start to get back into shape and just how much more appealing I'm gonna be for all those lucky women out there." So what's needed here is a 'State Change'. We need to make a decision and change our state. A state that's in favour of being alive and taking immediate physical action by using the body that we have instead of stagnating and dying on our feet.

How To Change Your State...

Achieving the right state is key to a successful fitness workout program. There's an old saying that goes something like this, "Motion Creates Emotion". When I'm sitting there thinking about going through my fitness workout I find all kinds of thoughts that try to distract me and make me lose interest in doing my physical exercises. You know exactly what I'm talking about, don't you?

I know on the one hand that I'll feel really great after doing them, but it's the getting up and making the start that really requires me to make the concerted effort.

So, the very first thing we need to do is to get up and move. We start by changing into the right clothes. That means, getting kits on. Anything loose will do. We're doing this indoors, so it doesn't matter what we look like. This tells our minds that we're about to start exercising. When our minds know that we're serious about this, then it gets into the same mode - ready to expect vigorous exercise. We need to spend at least 10 - 15 minutes stretching. Don't force yourself beyond the point of over stretching. Do it slowly but with positive intention. Allow your self naturally to warm up and stretch without bouncing, as this can cause the muscles to contract instead of stretching.

Play your favourite music. Play something that makes you feel energetic. Just like the music you play before getting ready to go to a great party or disco. Music that puts life into you. You can also play a fitness video on your TV whilst getting prepared. When you do all this, you'll find that the 'Motion' really does create the 'Emotion'. The body tells the mind that it has made the decision to exercise and then the mind agrees and conforms.

Make It Difficult For You To Be Interrupted...

Turn your phone onto 'silent'. Turn off your computer. Set an adequate amount of time for you to complete your fitness workout without outside interference from anyone. You need to make this an absolute 'rule'. Make this your special time. You must not allow yourself to be distracted in any way, as interruptions will break your focus and motivation. It is the enemy. If you sit down to answer or make a telephone call - you may well be doomed. Don't get comfortable! Get ready to do a little sweating with some exerted movements and exercise. This is how you'll get to change your habits and get into shape. It's for your good - no one else's.

How To Get Yourself Motivated...

Have your good set of clothes all laid out for you to wear after you've showered and exercised. Imagine and picture yourself looking and feeling great after your workout. And above all, do what ever it takes to associate 'feeling good' with exercising. If you can make this association of feeling great with exercising, then you've cracked it. Because most of us associate 'pain' with getting fit and exercising. We must erase this association if we intend to make exercising and getting fit a life style habit. Set yourself a monthly target and then spoil yourself by treating yourself to a new set of clothes that you've been eyeing-up for some time. You'll find that rewarding yourself after reaching your goals is an great motivator.

Try to get posters of the physically fit people that you would like to be like and hang them in the room where you exercise. This is always a good motivator.

Conclusion: Fitness Workout Program:

· Prepare - eat a healthy meal 2 hours before exercising. · Get yourself motivated - use music, videos, posters, new clothes etc. · Find the best time that suits you - morning, evening or night. · Get into the right state - use your body to get your mind to conform. · Right mindset - Make it impossible to be interrupted. Visualise your new body.

I hope that you find these tips on getting motivated for your fitness workout program helpful and wish you all the very best of health.

Great Christmas or Anytime Gift Giving Idea

A great Christmas gift idea (and inexpensive) is a funny, inspirational book called 365 Reasons to Lose Weight. That's one reason a day to stay motivated! I was reading on another forum and something I hadn't thought about was to give gift cards to places that sold athletic equipment/supplies. I thought that was pretty cool!

How bad is not meeting you BMR?

Hello everyone, I am new to this site. I live a very sedimentary lifestyle. I sorta understand the concept of your BMR. You need a certain amount of calories to sustain yourself on a regular basis. But here is my question:

If I am very sedimentary and I do not meet the resting BMR, will I gain weight? I have tried multiple things. I really don't move around too much throughout the day but at the same time I am not an unhealthy eater. I have the occasional sweets like everyone. I'm pretty sure that I am not meeting the BMR and eating enough. No matter what I do I cannot loose weight.

Thanks and any information is much appreciated!!

extremely depressed and insecure

It's gotten so bad about my self image I can no longer look at my self in the mirror. I feel like my body looks one way, then I see myself in pics and it's like I can not even recognize myself. I've worked my way into an eating disorder. I'm afraid to ear thinking that even if I ear one small meal a day I'm going to gay weight. My disorder is lack of eating. I'd rather live on water alone.

I work out everyday but and still about 50 lbs over weight. I do not know what to do.

Stomach fat burning magic.

http://ift.tt/1zxzWfw This will slim your muffin top, and give you the dream abs you've always wanted, with little work, and dedication, it'll come easy.

I lost 37 lbs in two months without changing what I ate, but when I ate… crazy right?

This is a real post not spam, and I am serious when I say this method changed my physique completely.

HERE IS MY INTERMITTENT FASTING DIET SCHEDULE THAT ALLOWED ME TO LOSE 37lbs. IN 2 MONTHS. 8 – 4 – 8

The one thing I do have to say since I started this diet is my food intake has gone way down naturally. At first I thought it was because I was putting less food in my stomach so it shrank. (Imagine that…another wives tale) Your stomach doesn't actually shrink, the chemicals in your body balance out and it turns down your internal “hunger meter” acting as a food suppressant. In fact "intermittent fasting diet has been compared to amphetamines" - Dr. Mercola, because of it’s food suppressant capabilities, and your ability to lose weight so fast.

I slept for 8 hours didn't eat for 4 hours after waking then I ate 2 -3 times within 8 hours and made sure I didn't eat 4 hours before bed. Stick to this and you will see results!

8 SLEEP

4 HOURS NO EATING IN THE MORNING

8 HOUR WINDOW FOR FOOD

4 HOURS NO EATING BEFORE BED

Repeat the intermittent fasting diet until satisfied = ) Please reply and let me know what you think.

Cellulite Stress! Aaah! Help please?

The title about sums it up.

I am feeling very stressed about what I like to call "the cellulite situation". The backstory: I'm 28. I have been ill for years with an autoimmune disease that we're FINALLY making progress on getting better regulated and under control. Lots of prednisone, lots of stress, lots of being told not to do anything that made me sweat or aggravated the issues. Hence, LOTS of weight gain. I went from about 180 (the mid-high end of a healthy weight for my height and frame) to 264 over about 4 years. I am back down to 248 and slowly losing as I am able. The problem is, I've ALWAYS carried the majority of my weight in my hips, butt, and thighs. People don't think I weight anywhere nearly as much as I do because I have a small waist and a large frame, but seriously, my gosh the cellulite in my thighs especially is appalling. I'm porcelain pale so it appears even worse. I keep reading things about how there's nothing you can do about cellulite - which is just pretty disheartening. But most of it seems to be people at their ideal weight complaining about a bit of lumpyness. Not the giant craters I have. Has anyone who has lost a significant amount of weight had an improvement in a situation like this? I would think that as I get smaller it wouldn't be as noticeable anyway - it's seriously bad right now to the point that I look genuinely lumpy and misshapen through the thighs when standing. I feel like it stands to reason that if some of that way excessive weight disappears it would at least improve? Along with exercise of course. But again, I feel like everything I read says nope, it's just going to be terrible forever once it's there.

Anyone?

Thanks in advance for anyone that has any thoughts, whether they're what I want to hear or not. It's been a particularly stressful day of holiday shopping and being unhappy with clothing, and as that's easily my biggest area of dissatisfaction it's really bumming me out.

- Taeryn

Canned fruit vs. fresh fruit?

My gut instinct is that fresh fruit is better than canned fruit, since canned fruit is generally canned in some sort of syrup. Is canned fruit to be avoided? I ask because I love peaches but I have a terrible time getting fresh ones home (or from home to work) without bruising/battering them. Also, sometimes they're just not quite ripe and I'm not a big fan of crunchy peaches! Does draining the liquid and rinsing the peach flesh with water help at all?

the majority of women and men would like to lose weight. That is a match made in heaven, a marketer's dream. Need advice - Loose / saggy skin after weight loss

Hello guys. I've been on atkins for most of last year. Lost 20kg at a steady rate of 0.5kg to 1kg per week. After losing 20kg, the weight stopped going down. What should I do to keep it going down? I tried increasing and decreasing food intake but nothing seems to work. Pants ain't getting loose either.

Another one of my concern is that I noticed some ugly looking loose skin around my belly and its really not help motivating me to keep going. I'd rather stay at my current weight if losing weight will cause more of this ugly loose skin thing. Will my body fix this naturally or will I need some surgery to get rid of it? I've read some stuff about it like workout and specific food to eat, but I'd like opinions and insights from you guys.

Lose weight fast in a week with Venus Factor work out

The Venus Factor Review

The Venus Factor Plan is a diet and body sculpting course for women that aims to deliver a female physique with the most aesthetically pleasing dimensions. The creator of the program, John Barban, has used the Golden Mean to identify the “perfect” female measurement ratio. He calls this ratio the Venus Index, and has tailored his guide to helping women achieve it. He claims his course is much more than a weight loss program, as it goes well beyond shedding body fat. The guide is a hot seller with plenty of positive user feedback to its credit, so we took a closer look to see if it lives up to its reputation.

The very first thing worth mentioning about The Venus Factor is that it is designed just for women. Barban discusses the key psychological and physiological differences between men and women at length. He claims that only a nutrition and exercise protocol designed specifically for the female physique can deliver optimal results. He takes his gender-specific approach a step farther by making the exercise and nutrition strategies customizable to individual women based on their height, weight, age and body type. For more info about this program check out this site http://ift.tt/1thCCdo

The Venus Factor Review

Okay so today I'm going to help the women out with their fitness plan by providing a review on one that I think would be most helpful. It's called the "The Venus Factor."

Here are some of the pros:

A workout program that goes beyond fitness and health. The goal is to give you a very feminine look.

A really intense exercise and dieting program that doesn't bulk you up and retains your feminine features.

Very straightforward. You simply have to follow the day-by-day instructions.

Very efficient. The workouts are designed to give the greatest effect at the least time expended.

The success stories are jaw dropping and almost too good to be true. You haven't seen life changing transformations until you see the women who have had results using this program.

Based on a lot of research and scientific evidence. The author's references are cited which shows good faith while also allowing you to verify the credibility of each claim the program makes.

Responsive and kind support. My inquiry was handled within 24 hours.

And the cons:

Strictly for women but there's an equal program designed for men which is created by the same author - The Adonis Golden Ratio.

This isn't some lazy 15-20 min workout 5 days a week type of thing. If you are looking for a silver bullet weight loss solution, "designer" workout program, or body jam-type class sessions, you're looking at the wrong product.

Additional investment can be expected to be made on dumbbells (free weights), stability balls, or even a gym membership.

So as you can see, this is a product that's going to put you to work. If you're looking for something simple, you might want to check out a couple other things but for those of you who are still reading, here are some details on this workout program.

The Venus Factor is a special workout program for women. It's unique in a way because it goes beyond making you lose weight and be healthy. The program's goal is to give you that attractive and sexy feminine look. You'll be fit but not bulky with the perfect body proportions for a woman.

This product is designed and developed by a pair of leaders in the field of fitness and dieting. On the fitness side, there's John Barban who is a thoroughbred fitness expert through and through - from his educational background, all the way to his many work achievements in the field. On the diet side, there is Brad Pilon who has been in the nutrition and dieting industry for quite some time now and is most famous for his book on intermittent fasting entitled "Eat Stop Eat."

As for the workout itself, The Venus Factor is a 12-week workout program separated into 3 parts. Each one is 4 weeks long, containing different sets of fun but intense exercises, and needs to be taken in the instructed order. By the end of the 12 week program, you would have gained a significant, if not drastic transformation. There's also an exercise gallery e-book which provides detailed instructions about each workout mentioned in the program and each exercise has images and a link to a video.

Along with the core program, there's the main Venus Factor Workout manual which explains the Venus Index concept. In a nutshell, the Venus Index is a set of female body measurements (ratio of your height to your waist, ratio of your waist to your hips, etc.) which is based on Psychology and the Arts, forms the basis of the most attractive female body. This manual explains how to find your current Venus Index and what fitness target you need to reach to raise your Venus Index. Additionally, you'll also get a dieting manual entitled "Guide to Body Centric Eating." With this manual, you'll focus on eating habits that depend on what your body needs instead of simply counting calories to lose weight. It will be a fresh concept to you if you have been counting calories for a long time.

So in review...

Let's face it, not all skinny or thin women are considered attractive or sexy. Yet why does every fitness program out there want to make you lose weight and get skinny? This might be the only fitness program for a woman geared to help lose fat at the right places and build the right curves at pretty close to exact proportions. The only knock on this program that I can see is that it takes a bit of work. If you are used to lifting light weights, you'll feel right at home. But if you are the type whose most intense workouts are treadmills, yoga, or dance classes, you might need to step your game up for it. They say that you can do anything you put your mind to and achieving great things come with hard work, right? Regardless, it is a one of kind product. Even if you don't follow the workout or dieting program, the information about the Venus Index and achieving the perfect female body proportions can help you set correct fitness goals.

The Guaranteed Best Weight Loss Program

If you want to lose weight, selecting the right weight loss program is absolutely essential to your success. There are a seemingly unlimited number of weight loss programs available on the market today so how can you decide which one is right for you? This is a question I see a lot from both men and women looking for the right program to follow. It's a confusing situation to be in I can imagine; wanting to lose weight but not knowing which program best serves your needs. So what do you do?

Well, the purpose of this article is to discuss various aspects and concepts surrounding weight loss programs in hopes that it will help you be able to select the appropriate program for you. First things first!

1. Identify what you REALLY want

What do you really want from your physical body? My online fitness coaching clients hear this from me all the time. At first it may seem like a pretty silly question, but it's not. I've learned that the vast majority of people seeking weight loss really aren't really that interested in losing weight at all. It's true! In my considerable professional experience, the majority of people seeking professional fitness coaching aren't looking to lose weight as much as they'd simply like to feel good about themselves and avoid the pain associated with the social pressures of being overweight. Weight loss isn't their true desire, it simply provides them with the things they are really wanting. In fact, I will go as far to say that most people really want to eat whatever they want to eat, do whatever they want to do and live their life as they deem appropriate. I'm not pointing fingers here, that's what I'd like to do too. However, being human means we have social pressures and expectations. At this point in history we are told that a lean, toned physique is sexy, attractive and desirable. I believe that this is the reason most people seek weight loss programs, not because of a true desire to be lean, but an intense desire to be wanted, to be sexy, to be considered attractive and to feel good about their body when surrounded by people who's opinions they consider important.

It's perfectly alright to seek weight loss for any reason at all; because you want to feel attractive, feel confident in your body or to attract prospective love interests. Whatever your reason for seeking weight loss, it's very important that you identify your REAL reason for this pursuit. Once you've accurately identified this reason/reasons, motivating yourself toward that goal/goals is a much more enjoyable process. Once this happens, the weight loss process is not so much about the weight as much as it's all about you! And that is exactly how it should be.

2. Determine commitment boundaries

This concept is perhaps the most important of all. I have seen people spend thousands of dollars on weight loss programs only to abandon that effort just days into the program. They over-committed themselves and were not able to follow through. Every weight loss program has a few things in common. Each of these things will vary from program to program, but the basic components remain:

Frequency - how often you must workout

Intensity - how much effort and intensity you must put into your program

Time - how much time you must exercise each workout

Type - the type of exercise(s) you will be doing during a program

This actually has a common name. We in the fitness industry call this the F.I.T.T principle. Beyond these basics which are usually associated with the exercise components of your program there will also be nutritional requirements to any quality weight loss program that fit perfectly into the same acronym:

Frequency - describes how often you will eat each day

Intensity - how rigid or lax your diet is

Time - how long you must eat this way

Type - the kind of food and nutrition methodology being used

These are going to be present in any well-developed weight loss program. Your success is dependent on what you are realistically willing and able to commit to with regard to each of these factors. Let's face it, purchasing a weight loss program does not guarantee success, you must follow the program to achieve results. For instance, if your program requires a very strict diet with seven days of intense exercise each week but you aren't a disciplined dieter and have never worked out before, this hypothetical program probably isn't the one that is going to serve your needs best. Perhaps you need a program that has a more developmental approach and allows you more food and exercise options.

3. Beware of programs that claim to be for everybody

I'm not saying that there aren't programs that could benefit anyone and everyone, but I am saying that you are more likely to be successful when you sign-up for a program that is directed at people just like you. Programs that attempt to cater to everyone are typically designed to produce sales more than results. These programs tend to be very demanding, have very rigid diet expectations and often lead to injury for those not prepared to handle the demands the program requires. Do your homework and find a program that is designed with you in mind.

When I began developing my Body Fat Meltdown weight loss program for women a lot of people told me I'd make more sales if I would only market it to everyone; men, women, older, younger, everybody. While this is undoubtedly true I couldn't ethically do that because I know that each of these groups of people have their own unique set of needs and desires when it comes to physical fitness and weight loss. Therefore, I developed the Body Fat Meltdown program specifically for newly motivated women wanting to lose weight without requiring a gym membership so they could work out each day for thirty minutes or less wherever and whenever they wanted. I wanted it to be ideal for the at-home exerciser or for women who need to workout with minimal equipment while traveling. It needed to take away all excuses for a newly motivated weight loss participant and that's what it does. By providing exact diets and exercise instructions the Body Fat Meltdown program ensures success if a woman will simply follow it for ninety days. This is an example of a program that has a targeted audience, a specific purpose and a meaningful method of progression that will lead this specific group of participants toward their weight loss goals.

4. Make sure the program is challenging, but livable

Be honest about the type of program your lifestyle will allow you to partake in. Fitness is an evolution so where you are in life now may not be where you are down the line, but you must be able to manage your weight loss program within the current boundaries that your life provides. For instance, if you are a single mother with two small children at home you probably are not going to stick to a ninety day program where you have to eat brussel sprout and cabbage soup at each meal while exercising sixty minutes two times each day. It's just not sustainable. Every program has it's nutrition and exercise requirements so it's up to you to make sure that those requirements will challenge you to improve but that also fit into your current living arrangement.

5. The best weight loss program is one you'll finish

The most effective program in the world is useless if you don't do it. I know this first-hand. I've has women sign-up for my Body Fat Meltdown weight loss program and proceed to lose twenty-four pounds in the first thirty days. On the other hand I've had women sign-up and never even attempt the first training program yielding a result of exactly nothing. The best weight loss program you can invest in is one you will participate in, be challenged by and finish. I can name at least a hundred weight loss programs off the top of my head that have produced amazing results for their participants. Conversely, I can assure you that every one of those programs also has people who purchased, then barely participated, quit and spent hard-earned money for no results whatsoever. Ultimately the results you get begin and end with you. They are dependent on the factors we discussed above and are absolutely determined by your participation and completion of the program.

Take these five factors and use them to weed through the vast wilderness of weight loss programs available to you. Find a program where you are the targeted participant, one that you can realistically participate in and sustain from start to finish. If you do these things I firmly believe you will be successful in your effort to lose weight and look and feel great.

Find The Best Weight Loss Program

According to American Dietetic Association every year Americans throws 33 Billion Dollars on weight loss program, foods, services and products. So, it is no surprise that you will find many fad diets and other so-called best weight loss programs in this flourishing market.

With the arrival of fad diets, special exercise regiments and all manner of junk science, it won't be easy for most of us to distinguished good weight loss program from the bad weight loss program. There are no extensive scientific studies conducted for different weight loss programs. However we do find a few scientific studies conducted on different weight loss programs, which is either contradictory or supporting a particular weight loss program.

In absence of any scientific studies, if you find out that majority of serious sources agrees on certain bodybuilding program then you may safely rank that program as the best bodybuilding program. In the best interest of your physical health, there is no doubt that you have to lose the extra fat. You have gained this extra fat due to your poor lifestyle and your bad eating habit. You can reduce your extra fat by following the best weight loss program.

What is the best weight loss program? The best weight loss program is that, which is easily affordable, rational and flexible - a well organized program, which you would like to stick with.

What is the mechanism of weight loss?In theory the mechanism of weight loss is very simple. Our overall body weight is determined by the calories we consume and the calories we burned. You will gain weight if you consume more calories than you burned. Similarly you lose weight if you consume fewer calories and burned more calories.

All is not that simple I know many people who exercising daily and eating well but still they complain that they are not losing any weight. That's why you have to follow the best weight loss program.

Types of weight loss program

Broadly speaking there are three types of bodybuilding programs.

1. Do-it-yourself weight loss programs: This type of weight loss programs are preferred by the busy people, who has very little time to go to the gym or clinic. This type of program may be done at home alone or with the help of someone. They rely heavily on the books, videos and other such materials for the guidance.

2. Non-clinical weight loss programs: This type of weight loss programs is mostly professionally managed. You have to go to their premises for daily or thrice in a week for the consultation. They also use different weight loss and diet books. They will monitor your weight loss and give you counseling regarding your eating habit and your diet.

3. Clinical weight loss programs: This type of weight loss program is conducted mostly in hospitals or other health care units. This program is recommended to very overweight people. The weight loss is monitor by the nurses, physicians, psychologist and the dietitians.

Before finding the best weight loss program, you have to decide which type of weight loss program is suitable for you. Then start researching for the weight loss program that suits you best.

Choose that weight loss program which has exercise programs built in and also gives emphasis on lifestyle changes. This will help you to lose weight and keep it off for a longer time and at the same time it will also keep you fit and healthy. It is your health. So, do some homework to find the best weight loss program for you. The best weight loss program does not hammer you to change your food habit drastically. It does not ask you to join a posh gym or hiring a personal trainer.

Check It Out

An overwhelming number of those who are overweight are also dealing with Type II Diabetes. Whether you've just been diagnosed or have been struggling for years, you may find some helpful information here.

FYI, I found a site that has helped me visualize that "future me" and keeps me motivated. I recommend you check it out http://www.spogey.com. It's pretty neat, they'll photoshop a pic of you and make you look like a fitness model. Best of luck to all!

No diet - just exercise - What exercise to do?

So after a looong time of eating as little unhealthy food as possible, I'm tired of it... Maybe in a world where the food industries decided to stop selling it everywhere and making it so available, then I could keep away - but when the whole family's eating cake - and not worrying about how much they have - I want to join the fun.

I can exercise well - I know that much. The most I've burned in one exercise session must definitely be in a long distance steady state run. But I hear so much about HIIT being so much better and all that. So just these quesions: Is it really neccessary to do HIIT instead of long steady state (which I sometimes find enjoyable), is it just a myth that it's so much more effective, and also what do you think of jump rope?

When eating what I want, but perhaps still wanting to cut my waist maybe a little bit, it would be best to exercise to burn a lot of energy. Thanks

hello...I am new here

I have struggled most of my adult life with my weight..I recently had a friend come to me and challenged me with her product... Its called Project 10 challenge....I have had AMAZNG results....it is so much easier trying to lose 10lbs at a time verses 30 or 50 or 100lbs. And you are able to eat whatever you want in moderations. I have tried all the "diets" out there and some have worked and some have not, and the ones that did work i not only gained my weight back but i gained more. So that being said....i didnt join this site to "sell" products BUT to help change peoples lives 10lbs at a time. I started out at 257lbs 2 weeks ago iam down 13 lbs today! Losing weight is a life style change NOT a diet! I am very motivated..and hope that i meet alot of people like myself "tired of struggling"! Good luck to you! Please message me if you would like to hear about the challenge, and no matter what i will be here to support you!

Hello to eveyone

Hi, my name is Casnell and I am new here on this forum. I hope to learn and also share information. Just wanted to say hello to all.:waving:

My new plan for sustainable weight loss :) (what do you think?)

So, at the end of last year, i dropped from 90kg, to 85kg. During this year I have dropped to 63kg. From starting last year to where I am now, things have always changed in my methods of losing weight, being what i eat in general and different diet methods, but one thing that I have always used is running. For the last few months I have been stuck between about 62,5 and 65kg, always fluctuating between. There was a time a while back that I pushed myself to the max, to lose the last fat FAST (it's not really about my weight, it's about my fat, weight on the scale is just a measure of progress). I tried running very far every day amd consuming far too little - it ended badly. I lost 0,5kg in a day for a short while, but quickly rebounded, and ever since that time my attempts have been futile, even though i dont overdo it like I did then, I still so often end up quitting, binging, then trying again for a few days, and repeat. Trying to lose weight in that hardcore way broke me - but perhaps has set me on the right track.

Like I said, I've failed quite a lot of times, but this time I think I know what to do. I just want to reduce my body fat - mainly on my stomach, I want a flat stomach. Instead of exercising intensely, just exercising just well enough, consistently. But now the diet, my new method, a form of portion control. This applies mainly to the sweet and delicious stuff that I love. Instead of depriving myself, and going day after day after day, denying myself, I will eat stuff that's nice, almost every day - just less of it. Say for instance, my mom bakes brownies. Instead of depriving myself, and instead of overindulging, i will cut one in half, and thats my treat for the day.

I think this could work. What do you think? Seems more sustainable to me.

Why am I not losing weight?

Hi everyone!

I started dieting 5 days ago and doing an hour of yoga a day. (Sometimes morw, depending on my mood.)

The problem is, I'm gaining weight!

I ordered body by vi shakes off of amazon. I am replacing breakfast and lunch with them.

I eat two snacks a day and a good dinner. My calorie intake is between 900-1200 a day.

What's the problem?

losing 15kg in 2 months without sports or diet

I lost about 15kg in 2 months by taking Xenical 120mg pill before each meal.

The beautyfull thing is, you dont have to do any sports. You can just eat like you eat before but i even goes faster when you dont eat much fat. When your pills are finished you have to pay attention because if you keep eating like before you will gain weight again... Unless you keep taking xenical...

Ok it was expensive ( about 160$ for 90 capsules) that is enough for 1 month (when you take 3 a day) But it was totally worth it.

I bought them on ebay because they were cheaper. And at least were not fake.

The most expensive was buying new clothes :-)

Only disadvantage is... Diarrhea. Just make sure you have a clean set underwear with you because all fat from your meals will not be absorbed by your body and will come out in the "more natural way"

Just try...

Greetings Anna

Preventing loose skin?

A little update on who I am and my current weight situation: I weighed close to 375 pounds when I was 20, this was based on several factors. I was on risperdal that caused my weight to balloon up, sedentary lifestyle and eating larger portions of food and unhealthy ones to boot. at the age of 24 with hard work I went down to 239, this was a combo of exercise, eating better and strength training. I dislocated my shoulder that required surgery this same year and since then I have not been the gym rat I was and my eating habits put me at 340 pounds.

Now to the point of my title; I am getting back my motivation to lose weight again but I want to make sure that I am doing this better and it stays more permanent. I am worried I will get loose skin and have to get multiple surgeries to get rid of it. Most of where my fat stores is in my torso, my legs for the most part are in good shape and so are my arms. What concerns me is losing so quickly that my skin will not be able to keep up and I am left with a deflated balloon look on my skin. I have read that strength training tagged with cardio will be my best bet to achieve results. Has anyone had my problem and was able to lose weight and have their skin snap back well or with minimal imperfection?

Thanks

This time for good...

Hello. It is hard for me to post this information and very embarrassing.

I am a 35 year old professional woman. I have a one year old baby. I am 5'4.5" and weigh around 180 lbs. This is my maximum non pregnant weight in my life. I have been down around 145 before and that is probably a good weight for me.

About four years ago, my then-fiance left because, as he said, he was not physically attracted to me. He felt I was fat, which...well, I was. It was humiliating. For the first time in my life, I began going to the gym religiously. I didn't grow up in a house where people paid attention to fitness, so I just didn't know, I guess; for me "gym" meant horrible PE classes in school and I'd never been to the gym in my life. I did Zumba, weights, and all kinds of things. I lost 12 pounds and went down to 170. I know that is still large, but I looked good and I was fit and I was on the right track. I continued to use the gym religiously for 1.5 years. I met my now-husband (who is a much nicer man). Then I got pregnant, and suddenly I was too sick to exercise intensely and also too frightened of miscarriage. But as soon as the baby was born, I lost the baby weight by breastfeeding and was back down to 170. Then a few weeks later, my dad fell (terminally) ill. Due to caregiving during the seven months of his illness and life with a new baby, I was unable to exercise at all. Slowly over the last year my weight crept back up from 170 to 180.

That's where I am now. I hate looking in the mirror.

I really need to, and want to, start exercising again. Somehow I feel scared, and I don't even know what I am scared of.

I measured my blood pressure today and for the first time in my life it was high. I am scared for my health. My knees hurt; I feel bad all over. Due to the baby I can no longer stay at work longer and use the gym there. I don't know how to exercise and then shower while watching her. I don't live near a gym. By the time I get home it is dark and freezing out, so I don't feel like I can just take the baby and go for a walk. My husband does not come home from work until 11 p.m. some nights.

I want to exercise again but I feel stressed, frightened, and trapped and I don't know how to begin. Two weeks ago I had a false start where I did three days on the elliptical and then stopped. I tried not eating sugar for a few weeks and I was surprisingly successful but I didn't lose any weight at all.

Last Friday at a work party, I binged on cake. I felt terrible afterwards.

So...I'm not sure where I'm going with this. I thought that maybe some company and :seeya: support might help.

Is this diet any good?

Hi Guys!

I have finally gathered the will power to embark on a weight loss plan. After numerous attempts over the past few years, this time I am in it for the long run. I've already been at it for a month and got over the initial cravings part.

So my current diet looks something like this - any thoughts/comments/modifications/experiences would be appreciated!

Breakfast:

Cold Coffee (with sugar free) - Not much of a breakfast eater - usually at 10:30 AM

Lunch:

Either Roast Chicken Breast sandwich from subway (without cheese, without Mayo) or a Chicken salad from subway (without cheese/mayo).

Alternatively when I get bored of the above I have one bowl of Cauliflower with two pieces of Indian bread

Evening:

Fruit - Banana or Guava

Dinner:

Alterate between - Two egg omlette and 2 whole wheat bread, chicken with salad, fish with salad, Cottage cheese with two breads, Soup and salad

In terms of exercise, there is not much and I am planning on starting either squash or a walk again 3 times a week.

Should I be changing this diet around a bit? I have been doing it for a month now and lost 3 kgs or so... but in the last week, it has been pretty much stagnant at +-1.5 kgs.

Look forward to becoming a long term contributor and losing those KGs with the help of you all!

Cheers!

Program For Women That WORKS

Hi ladies!

In my "intro" thread in the section for newcomers I mentioned the program that actually did work for me.

I have also read the rules about posting links to other resources and it says that link posting is allowed if it is within the contest.

Considering, that these days there are so many scan on the Internet and I personally spent enough of money and time on different means (programs, courses, supplements, etc.). I decided to create this thread and tell everyone what program made me lose 27 pounds within 12 weeks.

It's called "The Venus Factor". I don't know if there is information about it on this forum or not, I'm quite new here. But the program itself is quite popular. And there is a reason behind it! Because it delivers the results. Well if you follow the program of course. The good thing is that it is quite easy to follow!

It comes with diet plan and exercises, both are getting generated individually according your current data and your goals. Oh well, if I'm gonna go deep into the details, it's gonna take ages and few pages of text. I just want to mention, that apart from the program itself and supporting information with it (like videos and software), you also get access to the community (forum) where you can get advices and support from others people who are losing weight and also from professionals.

For me personally was important to know about the community, because it seemed for me like a sign of trust. Most of the "programs" I bought before it was "get it and forget it", I was on my own and couldn't even ask anyone a question or advice. Anyhow, if you want more details on all this, there's quite exhaustive review on WearSkinnyJeans.com (I hope moderators will be ok with this?), where a girl claims she lost 43 pounds within 3 months working with the Venus Factor.

I'm finishing here, but if you have any questions - you are welcome! Happy to help!

Diet, Muscle Toning, Exercise

Hi there all, :waving:

Right now I need loads of information on weight loss program, that would be effective. Been engaged in Diet plans for a couple of months now and so far the diet plan that worked for me is Paleo Diet. Also engaged in exercise and looking for threads that would provide information on what is the best routine exercise to take. Talk to y'all in a bit!

Motivation?!

How do you keep yourself motivated?

I can keep myself interested in working out for a couple weeks/months but then I fall off the wagon!!:( It is really frustrating because I want to keep going but get stuck!

Help!!

Hi everyone!

Just joined the forum today, looking forward to help and support from everyone!

A little about me... I am 22 years old and weigh about 170. I am trying to get down to a healthier weight so I can look and feel better about myself. I have been counting calories for awhile now but seem to slip up ALOT! I have been attending a Kettlebell class for a couple weeks now(missed the last couple) and trying to go to the gym other days. I lose my motivation very easily by the end of the day when it gets so dark and cold early.

I want to get down to about 155 but am having a hard time.

Hello, world!

Hi! I'm Julie. I joined this forum yesterday. I was struggling with losing weight for many years with no serious success. Until I ran into a brilliant review of one of the popular programs these days (I'm not sure if I'm aloud to name websites or products on this forums). It literally made me try it out. And I have to say a massive thanks to that lady for that. So finally I have succeeded and achieved results as I wanted. Now I am just maintaining the current shape that I am happy about.

During these years I have read a lot of information about the meals, diets, fitness programs. I also have tried a lot of it myself. I hope I will be able to help others on their weight loss journey. I also need to be here to get some motivation from you guys, since I get weak moments from time to time when I want to lie in the bed with a crate of chocolate lol

That's pretty much it for an intro. Please feel free to ask any questions.

Best Warm Up Exercise

The Importance of Doing Warm Up Exercises before Working Out

On those days when time is at a premium, it can be tempting to skip your warm-up and jump right into your workout. Is that a smart use of your time, or is it asking for trouble? Even though the warming up won’t burn hundreds of calories or get you those six-pack abs you’ve always wanted, it still has a very important place in your workout routine. Why warm up? Here are 10 good reasons.

Warming up before you work out will…

Increase blood flow to your working muscles, better preparing them for the additional workload to come

Increase the delivery of oxygen and nutrients to your muscles, which prevents you from getting out of breath to early or too easily

Prepare your heart gradually for an increase in activity, helping you avoid a rapid increase in blood pressure.

Prime your nerve-to-muscle pathways to be ready for exercise, which can improve the quality of your workout

Improve coordination and reaction times

Reduce the chance of soft tissue (ligament, tendon and muscle) injuries by allowing your muscles and joints to move through a greater range of motion easily (and safely)

Lubricate your joints for easier (and less painful) movement

Increase blood temperature, which can allow you to work out longer or harder

Prompt hormonal changes in the body responsible for regulating energy production

Help mentally prepare you for the workout ahead, giving you a few minutes to get “pumped up” for a great workout!

A warm-up should be done before each workout session: cardio, strength training, and even stretching-based classes like yoga. It doesn’t have to take a lot of time since 5-10 minutes is typically all you need to get your body ready for working out. Plan to spend more time warming up for very intense workouts, whereas you can spend less time warming up for low- to moderate-intensity workouts.

Not sure how to warm up? A warm up can be a lower intensity version of the activity you’re about to do, or it can be something different. A proper warm up gradually raises your heart rate and gets your muscles primed for activity. For more information, check out The Ultimate Guide to Proper Warm-Ups.

Spending just a few minutes on this important component of your workout will help you perform at your best, prevent injury and make your workout experience as positive and effective as possible!

Christmas Party

Okay, so here's my problem. I really really want to attend my company's Christmas party this year but I'm worried that they might have an open buffet. I'm already very self-conscious about eating in front of people. The idea of having people watch me take food is enough to make me not want to go at all. All it will take is one sarcastic comment from a co-worker, and I'll just feel horrible. What should I do? Should I go?

Really need some advice.

Hello everyone, I am a college student looking to get in shape and this is my dilemma.

I am 215 lbs and about 5'9'', and I recently decided that it is time to get in shape and get my life together. I am currently prescribed medications that cause me to have little to no appetite during the day, honestly it is hard for me to eat breakfast or lunch. I usually don't eat til around 4 or 5 PM. Being at college the dining halls have healthy options, so I have been eating pretty healthy (No Fried Foods, Grilled Chicken, Salads, Fruits, Whole Grain Bread.... etc.), and another big thing is I used to drink Diet Coke a lot, and I have completely cut that out. I drink a lot of coffee as well, but only black, no cream or sugar. With this all being said, there are days where I am so busy at school, I just forget to eat. This has just started to happen, but I keep reading online that you shouldn't "starve" yourself and not to eat too little, but quite frankly it is easiest for me just not to eat, I still feel as if I have energy and what not. I would say most days I eat around 1000 calories of "healthy" foods.

Also, I have began to do body weight exercises during the day, and to be honest I feel like it is more effective than going to the gym. I do push ups, planks, jumping jacks, and all of that kind of stuff, sometimes I use certain videos on the TV (Insanity, P90X) but those programs are too much for me to do religiously. I am able though to get a thorough workout in usually every day basically.

My point is this, can I lose weight doing this? I just started doing this about a week ago, and I plan on continuing for a month to see if this plan actually will work.

I was wondering if this plan will work for weight loss

Little bit of backstory. I"m 25 and 300lbs I've started to eat 1200 calorie a day diet and walk about half a mile a day I plan to walk more but it's tough for now. I'll do what I can each day.

Here's the catch. my diet is 1200 calories of whatever I want to eat. I take a century men vitamin pill to get a ton of vitamins in my body since my diet is lacking. I've always taken that pill at least for the past few years since my diet has always been bad and not giving me vitamins.

So I eat about 3 meals a day. usually 1 to 2 servings of bbq chicken and 5 chips or 16 fries and a couple chips. (chips are my side to my meals) keeping each day under 1200 with a one a day mens vitamin pill. and slight exercise, I"m wondering if that would work.

Getting Serious

Hey everyone.

I can't remember when I last posted in here, and a lot has happened in my life. I am now a happy mummy to a beautiful little girl called Stella who is 8 months old. She is awesome and lots of fun. My weight has fluctuated between 90kilos and about 110kilos (higher at the end of my pregnancy of course) over the last three years. I've lost about 7 kilos in the last 5 months and I'm about 100kilos as of today, and now I'm ready to get serious and work on getting to goal. My goal is around 76kilos so about 25 kilos to go. I'm decided on a long slow process, I see this is for life, and I want to have the best chance of losing and keeping the fat off.

I've been working on my fitness a lot, because I got really unfit during my last pregnancy. And I'm at the point now where I need to get serious about the food! My goal is to minimise junk and sweet food, and focus on good healthy food which I make at home.

I remember quite a few of you from last time I was here, and I'm happy to see that this awesome community still exists. I've been lurking a bit over the last few weeks. But I'm ready to jump in and get rid of my layers!

First question for you smart peoples, does anyone have the aria scales? I'm thinking of getting them, are they any good?

Yay I'm so happy to be back!

Workout Buddy X

Hi everyone,

I'm new around here and I would like to share something I just found. I've been doing it for two weeks and I lost about 5kg not mentioning that I feel much better. I'm not gonna lie to you, first 5 days were the hardest days of my life, I was sore and it was so hard but I think I'm making some progress so it was really worth it. I thought up of giving up a few times. But with the help of this program I made it through. Now I even look forward to the exercises, I really do feel good :D

So if any of you are interested in doing something about their life and their weight, there is a free 30-day trial available, so if you don't see any results you're not losing anything. There is also a lot of benefits, but I'm not sure what you all get by signing up for a trial but the main part are the exercises which you can try for 30 days which is pretty good to see if this program suits you or not.

You sign up for the free trial here:

Also I want to know did anyone try this before and what experiences did they have?

weight loss

Excess exercise tends to be counterbalanced by excess hunger, exemplified by the phrase 'working up an appetite.' A few people with extraordinary willpower can resist such hunger day after day, but for the vast majority, weight loss through exercise is a flawed option.

Introductions

-Hello everyone, I'm new to the site.

I have for years have had a weight problem, all my life really and it had never been an issue because I have no health problems,I don't get winded from the stairs, run fast, etc .However,as I am now a young woman,I had begun to realize my weight effects how perceive me and I am sure people do not take me seriously.I had for the past two years wondered exactly why my weight was now an issue and I know now.

I had been contemplating on the lie I've been told about personality and all that other stuff being more important when common sense says if people are visual creatures, visual presentation is obviously more important, especially for people of average intelligence,no significant hobbies or anything, etc (no issue with this,we are who we are, that is what counts).

I aim to achieve a lot of things in life ,become an author,a psychologist, write screenplays ,etcand my weight is part of what is holding me back. How?

Well, before I gained an extra 60lbs ,I felt better about myself and therefore ,more confident. At the same time though, the weight gain came from a combination of poor eating habits and depression, which caused the other is rather difficult to decipher.

Anyway,on another note,I am NOT losing wight in search of a mate because go to hell ,if you waited to see me skinny to talk to me :( .

So,while I am not one to judge people based on attractiveness alone,I am aware that 99% of the population does and if I want to be marketable, unfortunately a slim waist and a cute face is a necessity 9I'm already adorable...I'll post a pic when I get around to it)

In closing,I have come here because I am tired of my fat being one of the unnecessary barriers in my life and I am sure others feel the same.I am willing to support others however I can,and I in turn would like to be treated the same.I have tried so many alternatives and I absolutely need an intervention.I also fear that my weight will affect my ability to have kids,as I already have fertility and hormonal issues

I am 5'7 and 270lbs :( not something to be proud of and could potentially be dangerous in the future
