Third time the charm ( no more sweeties for me)

Heeeeeeeeey there! Im baaaaack:)

I haven't been on this in sooo soo long. I am going to be more relalistic this time around tho.... I used to always set myself up for fail by being so unrealistic to my goals in the past. ie.. setting myself a target of 1200 cals a day to eat, only to break out most days and eat up to 3000 ( 1200 is nearly impossibole everyday of a diet)

Now my aim is if I have those days that I am extra hungry ( due to stress levels or a lot of exercise, I will eat up to 1800 cals) today I ate 1840 cals but burnt off approx. 750 cals in the gym today and 150 cals at home

I am cutting out jellies, fizzy drinks and don don donnnnn TAKEAWAYS ( maybe on celebrations, but not like the 4 times a week I was having them as of late)

This is my third diary, and I want the third time to be the most successful time!! I have previously lost 3 stone, only to pile back on 2.5 stone of it!!

my current weight is 226 pounds

my goal weight is 147 pounds

That means I have to lose approx 79 pounds, yikes.

I am eating roughly 1300-1500 cals a day and exercising on average about 3/4 times a week. I have always suffered with my weight. Ever since I was about 9 years old it has been an issue, I am the only one of my friends that is obese. I have let my weight get in the way of approx everything ( including relationships---more like lack of)

Cant wait to catch up on the other profiles!!:) I will try to post on this at least a couple of times a week!

Acid Reflux / GERD inhibiting diet?

Hello all.

I have recently broken my leg and let the body fat really climb up to 25% whilst I was recovering. I now want to lose weight however the problem is whenever I attempt to diet I get acid reflux and I really can't help but to eat something to soothe it. Any suggestions of what I can do to help out with this? I usually eat a bunch of bananas ~700kCal a day to help!

*I am on 20mg/day of Omeprazole - this usually deals with most of my reflux problems.

19 yr old diabetic having trouble losing weight?

Kinda a long post, but... I'm Female, 19 and Type I Diabetic and I think this may be causing me trouble when it comes to losing weight.

Over the last month and a half I've only lost ~1.5lbs. At first, I tried eating a really low calorie diet for about a week without exercise but that didn't work for me. I have noticed that I've gained a little bit of muscle mass in my legs but nowhere near what I should be gaining/losing and no gains anywhere else...

Every day I do 1+ hour of cardio (usually running 3 miles on a treadmill @7mph and an elliptical machine for 30 mins), squats, rowing machine, lunges, and use weight machines to tone my legs, abs, and arms. Lately, in addition, I've been running a mile or 1.5 miles outside. I sweat a lot during these exercises which is why I'm confused as to why they are not helping?

I usually eat the same thing every day, which is a great decrease in junk food (I've completely cut it all out) and calories from what I've been eating before.

  • Breakfast - two pieces of peanut buttered toast

  • Lunch/snacks - usually a protein bar or a breakfast cereal bar (no more than 400 calories total for lunch)

  • Dinner - either cheerios, a salad, or sometimes a six inch sub from subway

  • Late night snack - popcorn (200 calories)

  • Cheat meals - sometimes I eat pizza once a week, but other than that no candy, sugars, snacks, etc.

My numbers have been very good, about 116 average for the entire month and a half with some lows mixed in. I am on the insulin pump if that makes a difference.

So my question is does anyone have any diabetic-related causes for this or if I should go see a doctor? I'm really discouraged and at loss for what to do I've tried everything and nothing seems to be working ): I've also been on birth control for about a year but that hasn't caused any noticeable changes in my weight and I'm off it now.

Thanks in advance!

Painful weightloss. Hi.

I've needed hernia surgery for a while. I called my insurance customer service # to learn about doctors in my area. She asked what's going on with me, then cut me off mid sentence and told me to go to the ER. I went. The doctor, understandably, was rushed and mad it wasn't a heart attack or some emergency, but a bad pain I'd already lived with for awhile. He said I was too fat to fix and that no one would repair my hernia at my size. He said to get a doctor and lose weight. I want this behind me. I'm pretty embarrassed that to get fixed I have to drop the weight that I put on being less mobile because of pain. Embarrassment can be a huge motivator, but more so, I can't wait to get back to a regular pain free life. I missed being active. I say missed because I'm active now. I'm walking a lot, and working. Strict diet of veggies, fruit and hard boiled eggs. Mct, coconut oil and some spices are all I'm allowing myself. That's really my whole intake at the moment. I did some research and I'm trying the most effective way to lose as much as possible. I didn't expect the boost in energy. The research has been an real eye opener on nutrition. I plan to lose it all quickly, but be responsible for my food for the rest of my life. I guess I should be introducing myself. My name is Kyle. I'm in my mid thirties. It's been a bit of a 'character building' last few years, but I'm good. I'm working toward happiness. I'm in a new area and would love a walking buddy, but I'll settle for learning and chatting with you fine folk.

Weight loss issues in College

Whats up everyone? My name is Jacob (Jake) Steele. I am currently a junior at the University of Delaware. I started the year at 334 lbs (Trust me, that hurts to say) But after struggling with weight for so long, I think I finally found something that works. First of all, I quit eating junk food and I completely cut out soda. To lose weight, you can't continue to eat this kind of food. I maybe lost like 2 lbs my first week of doing that but I wanted to lose weight faster and still be able to eat good food. Thats when I found a company who specializes in helping people lose weight. I thought, why not. (I don't want to post the website because I don't want to be banned for trying to market, but if you are interested, please comment below and I can tell you what I did). Anyway, this program gave me some shakes for in the mornings, some cleansing thing, an app on my phone that gave support, told you what to eat, when to eat, the recipes for meals and even a grocery list in case you didn't know what you needed. This was key because being a college student, I wasn't used to doing actual grocery shopping. I have been doing this for 2 weeks and I am proud to say that I have lost 13 lbs!! I just wanted to share this story with you all. If you have a similar story, please share. I love listening to success stories because I finally consider myself to be one! Thank you all for using your time to read this!

Where do I begin... Guess it starts with motivation.

I'm new to all of this and hesitant to even post. I'm not one for putting my problems on someone else. Esp strangers. In fact I'm used to the opposite I will listen to anyone and try to help. Anyway here goes. A lil about me I'm 27 a firefighter (that's where my selflessness comes from) from nj. I'm stuck in a rut and kinda speeding here with no breaks. As the weeks pass it's getting harder to look at myself in the mirror. The problem I have is that I feel like I'm trapped in a body that's made of molasses. My mind has such big plans and ideas but I can't get my body to do it. Idk if that even makes sense. I'm just so tired from two jobs that I just make excuses. Anyway that's me in a nutshell. Don't be too harsh n thanks ahead of time.

Me...

Hi, I'm a 22 year old guy who is heavily overweight. I'm 6"2 and weigh 28 stone and am starting to feel the effects of being overweight. Believe it or not, I've been around 24-28 stone for around 5 years and have never had any health problems. Just recently I've started to feel a bit tired and achey and thought actually it's time to make a change. I've been a member of the gym for around 6 months but haven't regularly attended as I find I feel very tired and as though my blood sugar is low after it (I have been tested for Diabetes and I am not diabetic and regularly check my own BM). I go to the gym maybe once a week and do a 15-20 minute swim (after that I'm pretty tired). I've decided that with a holiday coming up in six weeks time that I'd like to loose around 2.5-3 stone to start off with and I'd like to do it within the six weeks. I've just bought two weeks worth of slim fast and am going to work really hard at their 3-2-1 plan.

My question is, how is this achievable? Does anyone have any form of diet plan or exercise regime that they recommend I follow? I work 9-5 Monday to Friday and as I work in the hospital I am on my feet for 75-80 % of the day (this is walking, not standing in one place).

I really feel I can do it but every time I try, I fail. Does anyone know of any support forums? - My girlfriend is very supportive but doesn't feel the same struggle that I do.

Thanks guys,

R

Weight Loss Tips!

How many Weight Loss Tips you can provide? Let's see..... that way we'll all know little more about this Weight loss factor!

Here is I put couple of them tips:

***Start off your day with a fresh, clean glass of water. As soon as you get up in the morning, drink one down. This will help your body to get going because it won’t be fighting through dehydration.

***Drink a glass of water before you sit down to eat. Water will naturally make you feel fuller so you don’t have to eat as much food.

Weight Loss Tips!

How many Weight loss tips you can provide? I hope, will compete your Number. Let's see.....

Here I put some Tips, Let's start.... that way we all will know little bit more about Weight Loss Factor!

1.Start off your day with a fresh, clean glass of water. As soon as you get up in the morning, drink one down. This will help your body to get going because it won’t be fighting through dehydration. Also, after you drink a glass of water you won’t need to eat such a large breakfast. A glass of water wakes up all the digestive juices in your body and gets it well lubricated. You can always have your morning coffee or tea, but be sure to have a glass of water afterwards. Caffeine dehydrates you and you want to ward off dehydration.

2. Drink a glass of water before you sit down to eat. Water will naturally make you feel fuller so you don’t have to eat as much food.

3.Do your best to stay away from soda. All sodas are sweetened with lots of sugar. The more you can cut out of your diet the better. Also, diet soda is still soda. It may not have as much sugar, but it has other chemicals and components that are not good for your body either. If you drink a soda, counteract it with a glass of water. Remember, caffeine dehydrates you as well. Decaffeinated sodas still have caffeine in small amounts as well and just as much sugar, so they are not much healthier either.

Need advice what I should do next PLEASE

Before I start, this is quite a long story. I hope you will read it, because I really could use help and advice.

Since November last year, I have been trying to lose weight - pretty long. It started off easy - eat less junk, cut out sugary stuff, and run. I didn't need to run far, just a small amount, almost every day. It was quite easy, it was not too stressful. I weighed about 89.5kg, or just under 90kg(198.4lbs). I kept at it during the December holidays until school started this year. By the time school started, I had lost 5kg. For the rest of year, I have kept at it, often finding new info and tips, changing my diet and exercise. As I got further, I would do more work. I became fit, so I ran more, added distance and speed. I restricted more calories as I got further. Added in gym in the evening, just home exercises like pushups, nothing too hard. By our mid-year school holidays, I weighed around 65kg, during those holidays I made sure to maintain my weight between 64 and 66kg, which I did, while eating mostly what I wanted, and doing long distance runs, which was new, as I had given up doing a shorter 2 loop run, which I would do with more speed, and do sprints after. After the 3 week holiday, I decided to get back on track. Even though I had lost about 25kg which is really good, and looking slimmer than ever, I was still not entirely happy with my stomach, and some other low features such as lower back. Keeping track of weight was just my way of watching progress. My goal: to get down to about 59 or 60kg. Now I was doing things differently from before - not entirely but somewhat - it's hard to remember why I was doing things differently, but I imagine because I wanted fast results. When trying to lose weight, I always ate quite a small amount, maybe smaller than I really needed to, but during this school term (semester or whatever other countries call it) I restricted my daily diet more than ever. Not only doing this almost every day of the week, also running almost every day, long distance, about 12km, for an hour. It was quite much. I even at one stage, added on to this, started taking carbs out of dinner, such as potatoes and rice, which I had never needed to do before. In 4 days of a week, Monday - Thursday, I could lose a lot of weight, quickly, doing this. The week I remember, when things first started going downhill... I am going to start a new paragraph for this next stage, because this has gotten long (not too much left to go).

So, downhill from there. One week, I was determined. On the Monday morning, I weighed in at 64kg. I intended to destroy the remaining fat. I would follow this strict diet of mine, and run long every afternoon. I can't remember if I was taking out carbs from dinner regularly or not, but either way, it was intense. I hardly had any energy on my runs, which made them really ugly. By Friday morning, I weighed 62kg. I was proud. But that weekend I seriously overate, and by Monday morning, I weighed 63.5kg again. I hated myself for that. So the next week, I did the same thing, now from here my memory is blurry. All I know is that often during the week, I would lose weight, and just gain it back again on the weekend. I never went under 62kg, I always gained back. Eventually, I just broke down (not long ago). I was too stressed. A few times I have decided to stop trying, eat mostly what I want, and exercise a bit less, then I would feel guilty, try again, fail again, and this cycle would repeat. But it became more frequent, now, I've pretty much given up. I do usually my old runs now(short fast, with sprints at end), when I do run, which isnt like everyday. I can't find it in me to try lose weight. I know that I probably failed so much, because I tried too hard, made life too hard for myself, and became too obsessed. But despite knowing that I should instead go on a weight loss scheme that involves easier, slower, less stressful weight loss, I just can't do it. I don't have the same motivation or willpower that I once did. It's like there's something in my mind, that makes it so I just don't want to even try lose weight, thanks to all the stress that I have suffered from.

So... there's my dilemma. I weighed 63kg when I decided that I should definitely atleast take a longer break. That was almost 7 days ago. Now I've gained a bit, last checked in at 64.5kg, but after a day of no exercise, and some pretty high carb consumption at a party. I don't want to gain weight, but I don't want to work hard at anything involving weight really, I think it is my mind that is the problem. My mind just feels... tired... Like it's just sick of trying to lose weight, it's had enough. So, has anyone else had an experience anything like this? Any advice for me? Should I take it easy, rest, perhaps even gain some of the weight back, so that in a while I can be ready to start again, and lose the weight I've gained and more? Because it seems that every time I even try do anything about my weight, I don't last long, I have an emotional breakdown, and I use a sugar binge to cope, which seems to happen more often due to being stressed with trying to lose weight, which I know can't be healthy for me. It seems to me, like being on a weight loss routine for so long, and taking it so greatly seriously, has just made me an emotional wreck. It's messed me up.

So, advice would be amazingly appreciated. Thanks for reading.

my YOUTUBE weight loss diary (dont worry no links)

Hey guys,

I just wanted to introduce myself to you as a new registered member of weightlossfitness. My story's a little unique. I was born

fat, but lost 75 pounds in high school and enjoyed the perks of being super fit for years. I became an athlete, a physical trainer,

and I felt I dated a lot more. I just felt better about myself. But after a bad breakup 13 years later, I stopped caring (in

more ways than one) and put on 150 lbs! I felt like I trapped myself behind a mountain of fat that

had once been a hill...even though as a trainer I knew what to do! As a fat person especially, I really took offense to a lot

of these miracle pills some companies sell (don't change your lifestyle, just take lipozene? yeah ok. I'm a wishful thinker but I'm not an idiot)

I realize it takes a lifestyle change, And simply, I must expend more calories than I take in, but I wasn't ready for a long time. It took me a while to sort my problems out...and like all of us

'm still sorting something or another. But once my indifference began to keep me in my room all the time, I felt the need to change.

I'm still fat, but I have a large receptacle of knowledge from which to draw. I log each calorie I put in my body and make sure I don't pass 1500. And I exercise

once a day. 3 days of cardio and 2 days of weight training (on non consecutive days...with not more than a minute break in between sets to make it a cardio workout as well). Also, its important

for me to have a break day where I don't exercise and don't diet (eating what I crave MODERATELY). I lost 50 or 55 pounds so far

(its hard to tell because I first weighed myself on an analog scale). Anyway, thats my story. I still have 100 pounds to go. And I weigh myself on my new digital

scale once a week.

I just wanted to join to be a help to anyone who felt they needed support. I just made my first youtube video 2 days ago, and I think thats helping me too. Basically I weigh myself every saturday

and talk about my experiences lke a video journal, but I want to inspire as many people as I can, because having more than a hundred pounds to lose made me feel so helpless for a long time. And in turn

having these videos will pressure me to not fudge on my workouts or diets. To be quite honest, I recommend when those who have weight to lose do something about it, make a video too. So far

Im finding it helpful.

Anyway, if you have a chance, stop by my youtube page and let me know about yours if you have one!

On youtube, my username is crazypumpkin3883. Check me out! I'd love to hear any input or criticisms you may have. I'm kin of self conscious about the whole thing. its my first video, but, there you go.

Anyway, have a great day everyone, losing weight is simpler than you may think, but that doesn't mean its easy.

I hope to hear from as many of you as I can! :)

5 Keys to Kill Your Cellulite

5 Keys to Kill Your Cellulite

One of our contributing experts recently put together a kick-butt article that is the “Do This – and DON’T Do That” rule-book when it comes to getting rid of unsightly cellulite dimples, shadows and ripples. It’s a quick read with some eye-opening tips and a helpful video that you’ll want to see while it’s still up.

———————————————————————————————————————-

-contributed by – Joey Atlas, Womens’ Body Enhancement Specialist — M.S., Exercise Physiology”

“Ask any woman on the street what the definition of “cellulite” is and you’ll get a confused variety of answers. From “toxic fat pockets caught in the skin” to “bands of fiber pulling down on the skin” and many odd things in between…”

no more cellulite orange bikini

The truth is: most people really don’t know what “cellulite” actually is, or, what causes this odd appearance of the lower body trouble zones…”

This is no surprise as there actually is no such thing as ‘cellulite’… So how do we get rid of something which doesn’t exist?”

Here’s the answer:

“The word, “cellulite”, was cleverly made-up several decades ago, in a European beauty-spa, to DESCRIBE the bumpy, shadowy and dimpled appearance of skin in the lower body trouble zones of the female body. (butt, hips, thighs, legs)”

The beauty spas then started cashing-in and profiting big-time by marketing “beauty” services and products to get rid of “cellulite”. And if you’re like most women who’ve been challenged by this issue, then you probably already know all of those passive and superficial beauty treatments do not get rid of the dented shadows and mushy dimples on your buns, legs and thighs.”

In order to make your lower-body smooth, tight and attractive, there are 5 steps to follow.

Here they are:

5 Critical Keys to KILL Your Cellulite

1: You cannot get rid of the dimples and shadows (cellulite) by rubbing an odd gel, weird lotion or goopy cream on your trouble zones and problem spots.

So, stop using them – as some can actually make your cellulite worse.

Despite the fact that there are dozens of supposed ‘cellulite reduction creams’ on the market, there is no possible way for any one of them, no matter how expensive, to get rid of your cellulite. Cellulite is not a skin problem. Its an underlying structural issue, that can only be corrected by reversing the cause of atrophied muscle fibers directly beneath your “cellulite” trouble spots.”

Since the squishy dimples and shadows are a superficial symptom of a problem below the surface; it’s impossible for the creams, lotions or gels to have any physiological impact on the cause of the issue…”

2: Risky and expensive ‘medi-spa treatments’ can only reduce your bank account – not your cellulite problems. And there are many consumer reports about women being seriously scarred or injured as well.

Stay away from these as the FDA reports show women who’ve been scarred or injured for life.

Painful, dangerous and uncomfortable services ranging from endermologie to body-wrapping have been proven to be totally ineffective when it comes to treating cellulite. However, advertising and marketing loopholes allow these services to be cleverly marketed to desperate women who are at wits end with the unattractive dimples and shadows on the lower-body problem areas.”

3: The unattractive dimples, shadows and saggy ripples known as cellulite are not ‘genetic’ and you are NOT stuck with them forever if you have them.

Falsely believing this will prevent you from getting rid of your cellulite. So, don’t entertain this nonsense for 1 second.

These two ridiculous myths are often passed around by ‘neighborhood know-it-alls’ – and many women actually believe these 2 myths – especially if they haven’t found the right way to get rid of the cellulite. Whats even more alarming are the number of doctors who also believe in and foster these 2 demoralizing falsehoods.

Yes – it is common to see a mother and daughter, both with the lower-body “orange peel” look, BUT this doesn’t mean cellulite is genetic – it simply means both women have not found a way to lift, tone and firm the muscle layers under the dimpled, saggy skin.”

4: You can get rid of cellulite, regardless of your age – or when you began to notice it.”

Since cellulite is a structural issue (muscle) – it can be fixed with simple and unique body movements which target the cellulite areas.”

These types of moves can be followed by any woman, regardless of her age or fitness level. And it doesn’t matter if the cellulite started in the early teen years – or after pregnancy – or after menopause – it’s still a structural issue that results from soft, un-toned muscles underneath the saggy, dimpled, shadowy skin.”

5: The only proven way to permanently get rid of the dimples and shadows of cellulite is through a series of simple, yet specifically targeted lower-body movements”

These unique movements focus on lifting, shaping and toning the muscle layers so they gently push outward against the skin – to bring back the smooth, tight and sexy appearance, while burning off any excess flab, if there is any.”

This is how regular women reverse the cause of cellulite dimples and shadows… AND, if there happens to be any excess fat in those zones – it will be burned off as fuel by the muscles. This bonus of losing any unhealthy excess body-fat is nice because it reveals a great body and it works wonders for your health profile.”

BUT you won’t learn about these unique slow-tempo movements in the gym or your local health club.”

These body movements are NOT done with typical weights and machine type exercises.” “Most regular fitness instructors don’t even know about this type of targeted cellulite-killing method. (click to watch video)”

These muscle-stimulating movements can be done right at home, in total privacy.”

– The female lower-body has over 90 muscles…“

Picture those 90 muscles BENEATH your skin’s surface in your legs, butt, hips and thigh zones. That’s where the magic happens in regards to true removal of mushy dimples and saggy shadows in the trouble spots and problem areas…

Despite what most women have been led to believe, there is a critical difference between a ‘general workout program’ – and a laser-focused, cellulite removal method. The sweetest benefit of this is; you don’t need access to a health club or fitness center.” …”Just click PLAY on this video by Joey Atlas, (M.S., Ex.Phys.) and get it started now:” (it opens in a bigger screen so you don’t miss a thing)

These are simple, unique moves you can start doing today, right in the privacy of your own home. And if you start this type of targeted muscle stimulation method today – you will start feeling results within 2 weeks and seeing results within 3 to 4 weeks.”

how you can reverse the cause of the bumps,

shadows and dimples in your trouble zones and

problem spots, just click play above.

EXTRA TIP – # 6: The Dimples, Ripples and Shadows of Cellulite Get Worse if They Are Not Taken Care of Properly. And the worse it gets, the harder it is to reverse.

So, watch the video above to avoid further frustration, disgust and anger. It’s your body so just do the right thing for it.“

Has anyone here used kratom for weight loss and been successful? I have got at kratomunderground.com a sample of kratom and I have found that kratom has totally killed my appetite and craving for food. My point is that I may trade one addiction for the other. Seems kratom is of the lesser danger. The food addiction can cause pre-diabetes high blood pressure, high cholesterol, back pain, and not to mention all the mental side effects, while kratom is not so dangerous. Losing weight is a journey composed of a million healthy choices we make each day. So keep these 100 tips in mind to continue on that healthy path, little by little.

Fitness

Mix up your routine to avoid weight-loss plateaus.

Muscle mass burns more calories, so include three 20-minute strength-training sessions each week.

Go for kettlebell workouts—the average person burns 400 calories in 20 minutes.

Add sprinting intervals to your workout to target belly fat.

Add an extra five minutes to your cardio routine.

Choose faster-paced styles of yoga such as Ashtanga or Vinyasa to burn more calories while also getting a good stretch.

Keep weights in the living room so you can do some reps while watching TV.

Do one of these 10-minute videos right now.

At Work

Share weight-loss goals with co-workers so they invite you for a post-work Zumba class instead of happy hour.

Keep a reusable water bottle on your desk to sip often. Staying hydrating can satiate hunger and cravings, reduce bloating, and keep you more alert.

Use your lunch break to work out and then eat later while working.

Eat in front of a person rather than a screen. It cuts down on mindless eating and makes you more accountable for each bite.

Brush your teeth right after each meal and snack to avoid noshing on your co-worker's bowl of candy.

Set up reminders on your computer or phone every hour to encourage yourself to get up, walk around, and stretch.

Wear comfy shoes so you can take meetings for a walk instead of sitting at a desk.

Walk to a co-worker's desk to chat instead of instant messaging.

Sit on a yoga ball instead of a chair to work your core.

Keep healthier dessert options on-hand so you have something to enjoy during office birthdays and other celebrations.

At Home

Follow the 80/20 rule, which means eating clean 80 percent of the time and indulging a little 20 percent of the time.

Take time once a week to plan out and shop for meals and snacks so you're prepared whenever hunger strikes.

Keep a food journal, and e-mail it every night to a friend or family member. The accountability will keep you honest.

Put a big chalkboard up in the kitchen to jot down your weekly meal plan or one of these inspirational sayings.

When boredom, depression, or stress causes cravings, find a nonfood way to satisfy them, such as going for a walk, calling a friend, taking a bath, reading a book, or doing some yoga.

Make sure you get at least seven hours of sleep each night. Being tired makes for skipped workouts and extra snacking.

Keep cut-up fruits and veggies in the fridge to grab for snacks or easy meals.

Don't keep junk food in your kitchen. If it's not there, you can't be tempted by it.

Breakfast

Aim for a 300- to 400-calorie meal.

Add fiber-rich greens, avocado, and berries to your smoothie to satiate hunger for hours.

You already know never to skip breakfast, but it's also important to eat within an hour of waking to boost your metabolism.

Include at least 10 to 15 grams of protein, which suppresses ghrelin—a hormone that stimulates your appetite. Include eggs, which are proven to control hunger.

Also include 10 grams of fiber to satiate hunger longer and prevent bloating from constipation.

Going low carb is proven to encourage weight loss. Limit the carbs (especially refined carbs like muffins and bagels), and include a little fat.

Measure out that bowl of cereal or oatmeal, including the fruit, nuts, maple syrup, milk, and yogurt you add to it. Have a set of measuring cups and spoons on-hand instead of eyeballing.

Bake a healthy breakfast ahead of time to ensure you don't grab a sugary scone on the run.

Make pancakes even healthier by adding mashed baked sweet potato, some puréed spinach and blueberries, or cooked quinoa.

Eat a grapefruit instead of drinking juice. The fiber will help you feel full longer, and grapefruit is proven to help with weight loss.

Lunch

Keep this meal between 400 and 600 calories.

Buy fun containers, and pack lunch and snacks from home.

Double dinner recipes so you can have the leftovers for lunch.

Pack five salads on Sunday night so your healthy meal is already made.

Add cooked whole grains to a salad to increase the fiber and protein and make the meal feel more satisfying.

In the mood for a hot meal? Make a huge pot of veggie bean soup, divide into two-cup containers, and store in the freezer. Before bed, place a container in the fridge, then grab it before heading out the door in the morning.

For sandwich-lovers, use spinach or swiss chard leaves instead of a wrap, skip the slice of cheese, and load up on the veggies.

Sip calorie-free water, seltzer, or green tea with your meal instead of soda, sweetened iced tea, or juice.

Instead of cream cheese or butter on bread or bagels, spread almond or peanut butter. The healthy fats satiate hunger and can decrease belly fat.

Dinner

Keep this meal between 400 and 600 calories. Serve yourself a smaller portion so if you like going back for seconds, you end up eating a normal-sized portion.

Use salad-sized plates instead of dinner-sized ones.

At the beginning of the week, prepare a big container of salad to keep in the fridge. If the salad is already made, you're more likely to get greens with your dinner.

Chew gum while cooking to keep from snacking.

Salt causes bloating, and butter is high in calories, so flavor pasta, soups, meat, and stews with fresh herbs, garlic, and onions instead.

Spray on salad dressing instead of pouring.

Cut veggies into larger-sized chunks. The more chewing you have to do, the slower you'll eat, allowing your brain to recognize the "I'm full" sensation.

Freeze puréed veggies to add extra fiber to sauces and soups.

Halfway through your meal, stop and drink some water and decide if you're really hungry for the rest or if you're just eating it because it's on your plate.

My Journey Continued: Time to Dig Deep!

Hey everyone... it's me again! I'm still desperately trying to get back on track. I haven't weighed myself in months. Truth is, at this point I'm afraid to get on the scale. I think maybe tomorrow I will. I need a slap of reality to wake me up. I'll also have to update my ticker. Ugh... not looking forward to that one!

The past few months have been loaded with obstacles for me. The passing of my oldest dog, a tumor found on one of my other dogs (was removed before it spread thankfully), rheumatoid arthritis flares, and more. My RA flares have been caused because the meds I'm on (or more likely my lack of food control) has been showing elevated liver levels so my rheumatologist has been tinkering with my meds. I'm managing though. It's been really difficult to say the least and as I've always done in the past, food has been my comfort when times get tough. I wish I could break this cycle, but I've yet to figure out how.

On a good note, over the past couple of weeks I have made some progress towards recommitting. I've started walking my dogs after work which I won't be able to do much longer because of daylight savings time. I refuse to walk my neighborhood in the dark. Our streets are too dark and we have wild animals that I have no interest in encountering. My walks here total about 45-60 minutes mattering on which route I go. I've also started walking during my breaks at work, only 15 minutes but it's something. I keep saying tomorrow I'm getting up early to workout, but have yet to do it. I'm hoping by posting this here it'll give me the motivation to do it tomorrow. I'm trying anything at this point!

My food intake has been horrendous lately! I've rediscovered Ben & Jerry's ice cream and salt & vinegar chips... my two weaknesses. This past weekend I also went to NY for the Adirondack Hot Air Balloon Festival with some friends and on our shopping trip we found a Lindt Chocolate outlet. They had a sale of (100) truffles for $30 so we went half and got some. I had way to many over the weekend, but have given the rest away. Yesterday I did pretty good for me. I had ceral for breakfast, apple sauce for a snack, roasted chicken & herb dinner for lunch, and a banana sandwich for dinner. No sweets! So far today I've had cereal (Lucky Charms... sigh), a banana, and I have a BLT salad waiting for lunch with more apple sauce or rice cakes for snacks. For dinner I'll be having some chicken and french fries (baked not fried). Next week I'll be buying healthier foods. Just trying to use up what's at the house.

I've already posted a couple of diaries to start over on a fresh slate, but I'm REALLY hoping this one sticks. I've said it before and I'll say it again. I desperately need to get ack on track and could really use the support from you guys. I've been missing this group, but have been too ashamed to post with how I've been doing. :(

Later on tonight I'll try to get caught up on your diaries. I've already seen some of you are doing exceptionally well and I'm very proud of you!

Having troubles getting started

So, basically I've been trying pretty hard to lose some weight. I do have a Weight Watchers book and calculator thing but I've never actually gone to the meetings because I can't really afford it. So, I want to lose weight with the assistance of the weight watchers stuff. I find dieting isn't exactly the easiest thing ever because I don't actually eat properly. I've never ever liked vegetables, as a kid and now. The taste never really sat with me, I just can't stand it. Everyone tells me to eat more of them but I can't because I don't like the taste. I need some tips on good dieting, and exercising. I don't want to start out all hardcore, I'm not in great shape and if I start out hard I won't want to keep going. I will take any tips anyone has for me. Even if you can come up with a little plan I could do, that would be even better. I'm a college student so I can't like work out 3 hours a day, I'm not quite comfortable going to the gym yet so that's out of the question for a couple of months. I just would like to know where to start. I'm 5'2 and I weigh 180lbs, I'd like to get myself back down to 150ish as that is what I used to be.

New to the whole weight loss forum thingy...

Hey Guys,

So I'm 22 and from Georgia! I sell It Works Products right now. I have used 3 wraps, and have been using the Greens, Thermofit, and Fat Fighters for the past month and have lost 12 pounds! I know I'm not over weight per say, but I want to be at 130 by the end of the year. 12 pounds down, 30 to go. I have the motivation to do this, it's just hard! I am doing cardio 3 times a week as well as starting to see a dietitian. I hope everyone sets a goal for themselves!

Mine is 130 pounds by December 31, 2014, as well as help 50 others with my It Works business by the end of the year! :)

Have a great afternoon, and thanks for taking a minute out of your day to read my goals!!!!!

dropping off some emotional baggage in hopes of dropping some pounds.

A few years ago I had amazing success using a diet program call the 6 week body makeover. In fact in November and December 2011 they chose me for their featured story! When you went to their website, I was the first thing you saw. It was one of the most amazing moments of my life. So that was almost 3 years ago. I wish I could say I was still that healthy and happy, but life happened and I did not deal with it well. I gained back almost 100 pounds of what I had lost. Over the last 9 months I have re-lost about 30 pounds of that and now I am feeling stuck. I am using the same concepts that I used before, so I decided to stop by their forum boards and find a little motivation. To my sadness, it became apparent that the forums have pretty much ceased to exist. So I did a search for free weightless forums and this was the first one I found that looks like there are actually people using it.

Now that you know how I ended up here, let me explain why I am here. I am stuck. I am frustrated. I am sad. I know how to lose weight and live healthy but I keep letting things get in my way. For starters, anyone who has ever been over weight or gone through a big weight change (loss or gain), there are some very strong emotional components that are involved. I need a place to open up and be real. I need a place where I feel safe talking about my emotions and how they are effecting my healthy and choices. However, it is very difficult for me to express my emotions to the people in my life. It scares me and makes me feel vulnerable. As odd as it may be, coming here and posting my private thoughts on a public places feels safer to me then telling my best friends how I am feeling. But that is because this is nameless and faceless. If you judge me for my thoughts, so what? I don't know you.

So today is the day I am hoping to get back on track again. I am planning out healthy meals for the week. I am going to work on slowly adding more physical activity into my day. I am going to work on better ways to handle stress and anxiety without turning to food for comfort. I know I can do this. I just need to find a way to remember that each and every day.

Hello

After riding the roller coaster of weight loss I've decided to try something new. By trying something new, I'm am actually going to seek help instead of trying and failing to do it myself. I look forward to this forum being one more tool to my success.

juice plus

hi im new to this:) ive recently started doing juice plus and lost 1 stone has anyone else tried it?

Weight Loss Tips

Stay Socially Aware:

Weight loss is aesthetic in nature and involves others perception of ourselves. Conjointly it should be the farthest from our primary focus. Obesity is an epidemic in the United States today with many teens and young adults struggling with weight issues. Stigmas about social acceptance or weight control seem almost obscure. Some diet for a specific body type or desire to emulate someone they admire albeit celebrity, athlete, etc. Social norms incoherently mask the true reason for weight loss: which is to live a happier and healthier lifespan.

Losing Weight Must Become A Lifestyle:

Unfortunately the best way to keep something routine is the make it mundane, ordinary, and just hard not to do. Incorporate your diet plan into your family's lifestyle by introducing new foods, having activities night like bowling, evening walks at the park or walking in your neighborhood. Everyone emphasizes fitness club memberships but this is the minority not the norm. Most successful weight loss transformations involve a home workout plan and diet transitions.

Mentally energize Yourself:

Weight loss forums are a great way to keep your mind engaged in the weight loss program you're involved in. Dieters all have a common goal; to become healthier, whether losing 20 pounds or 200 pounds. Losing weight is easier when you share daily activities with others, keeping you focused and positive. You can exchange tips, strategies and meal plans which make the diet process a lot easier. Each person is different; use variations of your weight loss program to keep your routine fresh and exciting. Social media sites are also a great way to exchange experiences. Visiting websites and browsing success stories will also keep you motivated. Most importantly keep a positive frame of mind and the skies the limit.

Physically Prepare Yourself:

Sleeping 6-8 hours a day will increase the effectiveness of your program and allowing your cells to recharge. Incorporating cardio with weight lifting will increase your metabolism and fat burning. Stretching before and post workout is essential for injury prevention and increases flexibility. Perform self assessments every week to ensure you're progressing. Use any equipment that helps you be your best. Sometimes using a knee brace or gloves goes along way to train weak muscles. Chart your strength gains and adjust your workout accordingly. Drink plenty of water and follow your diet plan. Take supplements before during and after workouts to improve performance while staying within your programs guidelines. Keep your body temperature warm with light cardio every workout to improve output. Perform exercise motions weightless to ensure correct form which is very important when weight is increased. Utilizing this fundamental approach to weight loss keeps you plugged in and focused. Inclusively enjoy your weight loss program and most of all be positive.

Thank you for reading for more info on the program I used visit this site http://ift.tt/1uRMaPU

2 months in and no results PLEASE HELP!!!!

Hey guys, trying to get some help in my current situation hoping to get some good advice, please bare with the long post.

So just for some background knowledge I am 23 years old, 5'11, 220 pounds, male.

Recently I became real serious about getting into good shape and I even have a buddy helping me who has been a gym rat for most of his life and plus he was in the military.

So I have spent the last 2 months on a pretty strict diet eating 3-5 small-midsized meals(as opposed to counting calories) a day. Usually eggs or oatmeal in the morning, fruits or veggies for 2 snacks a day, lean meat and whole wheat/grain crabs or veggies for lunch/dinner.

For exercise I have basically just been doing a lot of weight lifting and compound exercises, bent rows, military press, bench press, squats, dead lifts, flat flys, wide flys , curls, over head curls, skull crushers, ab work outs...etc and my buddy is really making me do work. Our work outs are typically 5-6 days a week and 1 solid hour long. We work out every day and its all nonstop back to back we hardly rest or just bull shit around.

Now here is the issue I have been doing this for almost a full 2 months and went from about 225 Ib to 220/1 Ib beyond that when I first started I took a bunch of measurements of my body and haven't really seen any changes in those measurements either, I am not losing pounds or inches and I have no idea why. Another concern that I have the days after we work out my buddy is always extremely sore, in my case I feel as if I never even worked out I am not in the least bit sore I am not sure if that may be related or if I just have wolverine like regeneration but it is kind of odd. In any case I am wondering if any one might be able to help me figure out why I am not burning any fat or losing any weight. I thought maybe doing cardio 1-2 days a week would help me but my buddy said that strength training is far more effective in losing weight than cardio and I did find some research that supports that but I am still unsure.

From 501 lbs to 250 lbs in 19 months!

I started back in April 2012 weighing my heaviest at 501 lbs. Always tired, body aching and miserable. Found a program that did it for me and in my opinion was the easiest transition to a healthy lifestyle. In my first month I lost 22 lbs and 17 inches and that got me excited to continue as I had never seen results like that before, not to mention I felt incredible! My energy was up and I felt alive and I didn't crave anything like I used to! In 7 months I was down 156 lbs and it felt surreal! I continued with the changes I made which after my first month became second nature and in 19 months lost 250 lbs, half myself! i have found a calling, helping others through my experience... because I have been there, I can relate. If anyone would like to connect and talk about what I did please email me and we can talk. Have a great day! -Nate

Sappy, Sarcastic New Years Countdown

I need a new hobby and I am fat, so I decided to chronicle my story.

I had a baby ten months ago and gained an unsavory amount of weight. Prior to that, I was underweight but extremely unhealthy, weak and tired. Because I am a procrastinator, I have decided to create a new year's resolution a bit late: I will become the healthiest version of myself.

I am beginning a mental and physical journey today. I plan to explore the Eat to Live diet, continue doing Barre workouts, begin some sort of sport, try all kinds of different activities, work toward balance, energy and well-being.

Today I weigh 160 pounds and I would like to return to a healthy 130. I want to wake up with vitality and enthusiasm.

Thanks to anyone who has stumbled upon this post. Let's support one another! I believe in us!

looking for volunteers to try out new diet application

Hi,

We are looking for volunteers to try out a new and exciting social dieting app.

The idea is that you’ll take photos of what you eat, your friends are immediately notified about your post, and they’ll be there to comment support you. It is that simple and it is much more fun than it sounds, take our word for that.

This Android application is very effective for controlling diet and also very fun to use.

We are in beta stage right now, so you’ll be the amongst the firsts to enjoy it, and we will be able to test it before we ship it out there to the world.

If you interested please contact me at: assaf@crowdiet.com and I’ll be more than happy to instruct you how to install and start using it.

Count down to summer

Hey guys I joined the forum a couple of weeks ago. It's been great hearing other peoples stories and transformation.

My goal is to get down to 90kg by December, currently weighing 100kg.

I'm committed myself to training 5 days a week. Incorporating both aerobic and resistance training.

I feel I've got the training down pat. But why would love some new recipes.? Any suggestions??

The Zero Exercise! Eat What You Love Formula!

Hello Guys,

My pen name is John (real name Ole),

Did you know that you can lose 2 pounds or more a month, just by eating all the sweet things you love, and without doing any exercises?

Read on, to see how I can help you with those stubborn pounds for FREE!

First let me tell you how after 6 years of struggle and trying almost every diet and weight–loss program out there without any results I accidentally

discovered a formula which allows you to eat everything you like and no exercise needed! Sounds amazing, right?

Well…

It all started 6 years ago, when I hit the age of 26, suddenly I started to gain weight just by looking at the foods I always have been eating without gaining any weight.

I was 150 pounds at that time, and kept this weight for the last 15 years without any problem…

Suddenly I started gaining weight, and over the last 6 years I slowly got up to 180 pounds… I felt miserable, as I desperately tried every diet out there to stop gaining weight. I

t sure felt like I had tried everything, as I exercised more, I ate small meals every 3.rd hour to keep my metabolism up, right? Just as the experts advices us to do.

Then I tried the low-carb diet without any results, maybe I lost a pound or two… but it came back pretty fast!

I started to feel ugly, and lose my confidence, as I started thinking that there might be nothing I could do with my excess weight… now all my fancy clothes didn’t fit,

and I was totally stressed out when I tried to fit into my once perfect jeans... but in the hope, that ONE day I would be able to put them on again, I kept them in my locker.

My hope was veining, as I just kept on gaining weight. It was so bad that I just had one large pant left that I could use, and it was getting too small as well.

So my options started to be very limited, as I did not want to throw out my old clothes, that I had a dream would fit me one day.

I was on my way going to the city to update my wardrobe, as I just had 1 pant left that fit me… frustrating right?

The thing is that I did not want to follow a rigid diet, where I can’t eat this and that, and only eat specific foods on a specific day, and keeping a special food-list that I was allowed to eat.

The problem with diets is that you can’t follow them, you always want freedom to eat what you like, and the very disciplined ones,

may be able to stick to a diet a couple of years maybe, before they crack.

The miracle…

Yes, I would like to call it a miracle, as out of the blue my misfortune, suddenly would turn into luck!

I accidently found a way to eat the same mouth-watering sweet food I’ve always enjoyed to eat, and still lose weight without any exercise…

( 20 pounds so far in 5 months)! That was my dream all the time, not to give up the food I loved so much.

Does this work for anyone? I believe so, as I gave the formula to my wife and my father… my wife has lost 8 pounds in 2 months, and my father lost 60 pounds in 6 months,

also enjoying their favorite foods, and without any exercise!

I want to share this formula with people out there, and that’s why I have decided to personally coach 10 people for FREE to try out and experience this simple formula for themselves.

I just want your testimony and a before and after picture of the old and NEW you.

So the first 10 to send me a personal message in this forum is the ones that I’ll work with. We will do a 2 month coaching, where we’ll meet once a week on skype or email, to report your progress.

There’s not really much to do… it’s quite simple.

So send me a Personal Message

Best regards from

John

30 lb loss and body composition change

I've been at 145-150 for some time now but I am still gaining muscle I think. I would like to lose a couple percentage points of body fat and I will be pleased with how I look. Of course that required watching my diet and doing cardio, neither of which I am fond of! I started running 3 months ago so will likely try to keep up with that.

Being Grateful for Our Bodies

The other day I was listening to an interview of a well respected fitness expert (can't remember who he was), and he said something that has stuck with me and I thought I'd share it with everyone.

When we see someone who's incapacitated in a wheelchair, we typically feel bad for them. We think, "How horrible it must be not to be able to move freely with your body." We know that it's a bad thing to not be able to move, yet most people dread exercise and activity. We take for granted the blessing of being able to run, bike, stretch, and dance. Seems pretty ungrateful, doesn't it? Why do we not want to get up and move when we would do almost anything not to lose the gift of mobility?

We should be grateful for our bodies and exercise them. Our bodies want to move, that's what they're designed to do. To be sedentary in life is to waste the gift of a fit and able body. That's why we should look forward to and enjoy exercise, and not look at it as a chore. Just something to think about :)

One more try!!

Hi. My name is Kate and this has to be my 147th attempt at a diary! I have come back with my tail between my legs and at my fattest :(

Back in 2011 I found this forum and it changed my life. I lost over 50lb!!!! but over the years I have gained it all back  and more. Up until last Christmas I had only gained 15-20lb but gave up smoking on 1st of January and had some serious depression/anxiety problems from about Easter time and have managed to gain another 40lb this year alone!!!!. I am so bloody anger with myself. I've had therapy and I'm in a pretty good place mentally so I just need to shift this other person I seem to be carrying around!!

I start a diet every day and then when I f**k up I tell myself that I will start tomorrow, or even better, MONDAY!!!!!! :banghead:

I have been thinking about starting another diary for a little while but my life is busy and I don't get chance to read stuff on the forum and post but I am going to try and MAKE myself find the time. Back in 2011 it was my life, I need to do that again.

So onto today:-

Like yesterday and the day before that etc etc I woke up thinking today I will start but unlike the other days, it is 5.15pm and I'm still going strong :) I actually did some exercise this morning! I took one of my dogs for a walk to the reservoir (about 2 miles away......she is obsessed with water and loves swimming) and then we ran back!!!

Back in 2011 I was obsessed with losing weight and getting fit. I want that back but I just cant seem to be motivated to get off my fat arse. but hey, I managed it today :)

Ok, gonna go cook dinner. I'll come back in a bit with my aims, weight and measurements!

Losing Weight Rapidly

Wanting a slimmer and sexier body is no lofty ambition. Many people have succeeded in sculpting their physiques to make them look healthy and desirable. However, this end is not attained in just a snap or skipping one night's dinner. For some people though, patience is not a virtue. They seem not to be able to afford so much attention, time and money to get the body they have always wanted. As a result, these people result to rapid weight loss practices and programs which may not be as effective as these people are led to believe they are.

Fast-track diets are one of these rapid weight loss practices which may not be very inviting as they seem according to research. Fast-track diet programs , as scientific research shows, are only good while they last. Rapid weight loss often results ironically, to rapid weight gain. people who undergo low carbohydrate or low calorie diets normally revert back to old eating habits simply because human beings can not actually live on with this type of diet scheme for the rest of their lives.

Now there is also scientific research showing that rapid weight loss does not imply an individual is losing unwanted excess fat; it is commonly water that is lost with following rapid weight loss practices. This could cause certain alarm but actually, water lost is regained very quickly. So there is actually zero net weight lost after all. So one should not be foolish enough to be so gullible with the advertising of certain diet pills out there in the market; especially those which claim to aid lose a whopping amount of fat in a short time. They will only dehydrate the body. And just so it is clear, the body can only lose two pounds of fat per week, one could be exceptionally lucky if he can lose three, but normally, it's just two.

Another rapid weight loss product out in the market is the slimming soap. Claiming that these soaps are made from a unique concoction of rare chinese herbs and seaweed, they assert to help people using them to shed off body fats by emulsifying them upon application while taking a bath. Some are even specialized like those which promise to give the user "beautiful thighs". The ingredients may prove to improve the quality of the skin but no research has ever come up yet which aids to prove the efficacy of these ingredients in emulsifying excess body fats.

One more rapid weight loss product out there in the market promises to suppress hunger and at the same time help increase the body's metabolic rate. It also claims to be able to accelerate the healing process and reduce certain body pains, all these plus its being a very chic fashion accent. Well they are actually called magnetic weight loss earrings.

The secret of this set of earrings is in the magnet, so it says. Wearing them near the ears balances the magnetism in the body therefore one will experience all the above mentioned effects. Though press releases say that there are actually "studies" to back these assertions up, nothing yet is found in medical journals. Though buying a set may not kill a person, it's probably not a wise investment. One might as well wear a horse shoe earring for a more exquisite fashion statement.

Bottom line is "no pain, no gain". If one wants a beautiful body, one must sweat it out. And as for those rapid weight loss products coming out on the market, if they are too good to be true, they probably are not.

For the information of those unacquainted with the process of manufacturing Portland cement, it may be stated that the material consists preliminarily of an intimate mixture of cement rock and limestone, ground to a very fine powder.
